Hot pizza thread about topping choice. On hot pizzas.

Quick straw poll, How many of those going for pineapple on pizzas are vegetarian?

I reckon that there may also be a connection with the number of people of people who also like sweetcorn on pizzas - I blame it on the degraded, sugar-craving tastes of certain vegetarian types..

;)

Pineapple lover here, and definitely not veggie.

Pineapple on pizza is made of wrong.

I like onions, artichokes, spicy salami and and olives.

Damn the taste free meat eater dragging the side down.

You could, however, be the exception that proves the rule.

I am also not a veggie, but don't really like the "meats" that you get on cheap pizzas.

I am partial to sweetcorn on a pizza also though :)

<struggles to keep theory on track>

Know what you mean about the 'meat' on pizzas. Pepperoni generally seems the best bet for me.

one of the best pizzas i ever tasted was a slice from a shop in Brooklyn, a roasted garlic pizza. each slice had like 20-30 whole cloves of roasted garlic/.

Yet another non-veggie who can't stand pinapple on pizzas here.

Don't mind sweetcorn that much, depends on the other toppings.

Pineapple can fuck off and so can sweetcorn
Now now, don't be hasty. Sweetcorn has its place. Admittedly it's not on top of a pizza, but I wouldn't dismiss it as a foodstuff. Unlike the evil pineapple - which I'm very glad to see that there others who despise it as much as I do

I always think the measure of a good pizza place is whether they can make the following well:

Ham and pineapple - the "hawaiian" has to be near the top of my list - nothing wrong with pineapple - adds a touch of magic to any dish!

Marguerita - Probably my fave - nice thin crust, tomato sauce and decent cheese

Pepperoni - The test is whether they use proper pepperoni or substitute some cheap salami of dubious provenance.

Salami - Harpo's pizza in Headingley (now relocated to Roundhay) made the quintessential salami pizza. Grease never tasted so good!

Christ I'm starving.......

I meant on pizzas - I quite like corn on the cob with loads of butter and it's OK in macaroni cheese.
Pineapple on its own is very tasty and it's even nice, 70s style, on a cocktail stick with some mild cheddar

I don't like tons of cheese either. Who are these people who order extra cheese?

I can't cope with loads of cheese either. I prefer my pizza to have at least a 60/40 split in favour of tomato sauce. But then, I'm not massively keen on pizza anyway tbh, after overdosing on it during a stoned week in Colorado.

Homemade pizza is different, but it's a rare occasion when I order delivery pizza, and even rarer for me to actually want it.

Ah Orang, and I thought you were maintaining your classy 'authentic' Italian style pizza is best approach too. Amd then you confess that you like extra cheese.

<sniff>

I actually don't mind the stodgy cheese filled American pan style pizzas once in a while - a grease filled treat once in a while. But a proper Italian style thin pizza deserves simple, high quality ingredients... and not to be drowned or overwhelmed by cheese.
