Hot in March?

For a week, that's pretty good... I'd still go with Egypt though - but then that's a decision made on food :D

felafel and kebabs and humous etc but if you get the sickness most people get you won't be worried about exactly what the food is.

egypt sinia bit - very nice - chilly at nights, but warm enough to swim and get a tan

cheap also- people are shit scared of getting bombed

i loved it

day trips to Petra alos - beats teh pyramids for me

:\ you're not really selling it to me lol :D

Egypt is the No. 1 country in the world for getting a dodgy stomach, but if you want to lose weight, it may be just what you're after ;)

Egyptian food is middle eastern, so things that you'd get in Lebanese restaurants over here. I'm not so keen on fruit in my food (they like apricots and prunes...etc in their tagines in Morocco).

Never been ill the times I've been there.

From what I've heard, Lebanese food is basically the same as Egyptian food but is much, much better.

I've had Egyptian food and really liked it so am looking forward to trying Lebanese.
Then again, I've also been told that if I liked the Egyptian food that means it was probably really Lebanese anyway.

Lol - who told you that? Someone from Lebanon? ;) :D

Most arabs seem to argue about the origins of dishes... all adamant that they come from their country :D

This was someone whio had been to Egypt and had previously eaten a fair amount of Lebanese food (in this country, I think).

I enjoyed the Egyptian food I had in this country, though, and haven't had Lebanese myself.

Holiday is put on hold...we have visa issues :(

Well, I guess if it ends up delayed then more places nearby will be warmer by then. Not much of a bright side, I know.

I'd go for Egypt. Went there many years ago in May and the it was really hot. As someone else has said the beach resorts are not near to Cairo or other touristy attractions such as Valley of the Kings, Karnak and Luxor Temple which are all in Luxor. There's also Ambu Simbel to see in the South. It was an amazing holiday with so much to see and do. Never had any stomach problems with the food like I did in India.

400 quid. Hate to say it, but Goa is lovely then and if you head away from the hordes, cheap as chips.

Want beach? Tick.
Want Culture? Tick.
Want Weirdness? Tick.
Want fantastic food? Tick
Want quality smoke? Tick
Want cheapness? Tick

So much to recommend it. Takes a little prep to go there thats all.

Canaries are cheap and hot in March.

It ain't all Playa de las Americas either, much of the islands is very beautiful and unspoilt.

Fly to Tenerife, EUR25 to the port, ferry to La Gomera

or, how's about Jerez in Spain, flights outta Stanstead, EUR10 taxi into town, good base for exploring the rest of Andalucia even without a car as it's a sorta train hub?
