Homes Under the Hammer - Is there a more repugnant TV programme?

I think some a repossessed.

Others are possibly probate jobs - maybe an elderly relative has died and the place hadn't been maintained very well, hadn't been decorated for decades, and it wouldn't sell through a regular estate agent, would only really sell through auction to a 'professional' property developer.

Others are possibly in demand - either an unusual type of property that's difficult to sell on the open market by an estate agent, so they try to market it more widely and attract attention for on the day bids. Or maybe in a desirable area, say in a good school catchment area and they're just trying to see how much they can make, because the market value might be X amount in terms of what the bricks and mortar are worth, but maybe they might attract a premium because of factors like school catchment, and people might be prepared to bid more?

There might be other reasons as well.
