Homeless people on the street in London...

Is it now on the increase? My eyes tell me it is.
On my old street in Deptford, there is a family sleeping in a car. One of them appears to be a wheelchair user. They seem to have a fridge wired up in the boot.

Does anyone know any agencies to notify as they clearly need help and should be prioritised.

why an auld thread? why a six year auld auld thread? does the topick not merit a new thread?

it's this off-topick abuse which diminishes your once-sparkling reputation.
Will you stop deliberately disrupting threads with needling and unnecessary fussiness? If you've got something useful to say about homelessness in London, then say it. If not, kindly scram and piss off someone else.

i don't believe objecting to off-topick abuse is disrupting threads. do you? now, returning unwillingly to topick and post 36... i await your apology.

Seriously, just fuck off Pickman's. Not in the mood for your shit right now. I asked for some advice to help a poor family sleeping in their car and you just jump in with some nonsense about starting a new thread, like the antipogo. It's not appreciated.

did you fucking read post 36? did you? why not give it a fucking go?

Anyway, this is the agency I was thinking of:
http://www.nosecondnightout.org.uk
Nosecondnightout (NSNO) are dubious in my opinion. It's a bit like a conveyor belt for the homeless. Ok for some people in that situation but I'm always mindful of who I refer to them. I definitely struggle to refer the very vulnerable, but that's usually a local authority issue anyway.

Although saying that I once referred a service user to NSNO and she got housed really quickly.

FYI -Centrepoint is for 16-25 year olds. I'm not sure on the ages of the family you mention Orang.

If there's a wheelchair user sleeping there it's definately a local authority issue.

I spoke to someone from streetlink and they weren't very helpful, kind of passing the buck and saying that the cops and the council would already know about it they were a family and if one was disabled. That's a huge assumption to me.

Street link are essentially NSNO. It depends who you get to talk to, some are more helpful than others.

They are definately buck passers though. It never used to be like that before NSNO came about, well it certainly wasn't as bad as it is now.

Yeah, I assumed kids when I read 'family'...
I think it's a couple (man/woman) and an elderly man. There might be one or more in another vehicle too. I think they are from Central/Eastern Europe and perhaps unaware of what help they may be entitled to.
