Home made potato wedges - best way?

wedges are sexy..made some last week and had them with my leftover homecooked jerk chicken.

They rock!!
Homemade (like most things) are best too.

I made a huge batch up recently and did par boil them. They came out really nice and I had spiced them up well before getting in the oven.

Out the oven, topped with grated cheese, back in until it melts and serve with sour cream for the massive win.

I just throw any potatoes I get at people in the bus shelter over the road. Pity really, wedges sound rather quite nice.

you may jest, but there was this "artist" running all over hackney a few years back, placing/throwing potatoes (with match sticks stuck in them (naturally)) on top of bus shelters across the borough. fucking genius it was. wasn't you was it??

This is still going on, tho the spuds are more neon colours now. I preferred the B&W ones.

neon is the new B&W

my wedges never come out wedge shaped, the first few cuts into the potato turn out ok but the rest come out more chunky than wedgey..

still taste good so can't really complain :D

Just been to Sainsbury's and bought a sack of Maris Pipers (free sack of carrots when you buy the spuds!), Schawarz garlic and herb sprinkle stuff and sour cream. Plus BOGOF wraps to put yesterdays leftover veggie sweet n sour

Thanks moomoo!

I like mixing spices and oil with breadcrumbs, then tossing the wedges with that. I use stale bread for the breadcrumbs, then toast them. Then, I mix onion powder, garlic powder, pepper, chilli, paprika, tumeric, some kind of dried herbs and breadcrumbs with some olive oil.

I par-boil my wedges, cos I'm usually desperate to eat, then mix it with the spicy breadcrumb/oil mix.

Excellent.

I can't make them tonight as my extra child doesn't like them apparently. He only likes oven chips. So I'll wait till I've only got my own kids to feed.

I don't know, but it I'd just like to re-state that, no matter how many michelin stars you have a wedge is not, never was and never will be a chip!!!:mad::mad:

Not mentioning any names.....Mr Ramsay
