i hate her for mnay many other reasons still though! don't think that changes anything. Although brodie dahl is much much more hated by me then courtney these days, she is courtny but nastier and more obvious about it(last thing i will say aout her on this thread.)

Celebrity Skin is one of the most unfairly underrated albums of the last 20 years IMHO. Brilliant live, too. Wish Courtney would lay off the dodgy plastic surgery though - a few more procedures and she'll be well into Bride of Wildenstein territory...

Definitely yay. If she wasn't also known as Mrs Cobain, she would have been acknowledged as one of the best female vocallists of the last 15 years, along with PJ Harvey.

Live Through This is great, but Celebrity Skin is also a near perfect slice of punk-pop-rock.

What infuriates me is people assume Kurt must have 'helped' . Hole's first album was easily as good as 'Bleach' and she was a musician well before she even met him. Live Through This is an absolutely classic album-my favourite ever and her following albums although not as spectacular and immediate, still amazing and stand the test of time.
I hate this sense of 'hubby must have helped his wifey to become popular' thing-never liked Nirvana much but always adored Hole. Completely different music and values-Hole's lyrics are superb and her voice amazing. Always has been. Seems so misogynistic to claim a whole band are influenced by one woman's husband

i think part of it is that nirvana hit the mainstream FIRST, therefore in the minds of many she was riding on his coat-tails. the fact remains that, according to some biogs, it was love's music that attracted KC to her first and foremost. there's always going to be some meatheads out there who find it hard to believe that a woman can achieve without their man helping them up, but you only need to have listened to early hole stuff, read pre-KC interviews with them, especially the other band members, to realise that it's pretty much all them!

plus KC was the sort of bloke who i think would rather chop off his own dick than be seen as giving his wife some sort of leg up. his interviews are very anti-male, especially the perceived patriarchal bullshit of the music industry. it seems that he admired CL for her ability to take them on.

sadly as a fickle git its not the ears but the eyes for me. most hole stuff leaves me longing for a tune full of soul. but CL is iconoclastic absolut rock crack whore and long may she reign. we need images of wasted rock women with their dm's on monitors.

i was one of the mian anti courteny lot! and as i recall it was a thread on courteny rather then hole.

I don't think she killed kurt he was always a troubled soul that wasn't my problem with her i wont go into it co sit will turn very bitter very quickly. I hate courtney as a person as business women and as a celebrity. I loved her band and dont mind her as an actress.

as foir faith no more she was out a good two three years before they released anything as far as i know and there is nothing around with her as a singer.
