Depends what you mean by shit books,I guess...
Maybe he'll find the pectopah at the end of erm ... er!
I have this on double LP signed by Douglas Adams and Geoffrey Perkins. Had a lovely boyfriend at the time (40 years ago!) and we used to listen religiously on Monday evenings.
You can do that on the telly these days can't you?
Nah, more new episodes. The last lot were rubbish and you can bet this will be too.

I thought the bits I heard were shit, tbf. Shit enough that I turned them off, repeatedly, in order to discuss poo with the toddler.
Tbf there’s a decent chance that I would’ve thought the original was shite too, as I am a tedious and moody old fucker.
But, still. Zany, tedious bollocks. Blah blah Babel fish blah blah oh here’s Marvin, he’s got a big brain don’t ya know. Blah blah something bollocksy about trillian not being able to exist separately from blah blah more bollocks.
And the voiceover was pointlessly over melodic, and took up about three quarters of all spoken words.
Fuck it, with spoons on.
I enjoyed it
I used to work with the guy that Marvin was based on.
And no I am not shitting you, he and Douglas Adams used to know each other through the local CAMRA group and socialised frequently.
I did once ask Martin if Marvin was based on him and he gave me a wry smile and refused to confirm or deny.
He was one of the most moany people I have ever met though, his favourite refrain was "I'm a really intelligent bloke, and they've got me doing the filing"
Listened to this earlier. Of course it's never going to have the same impact as the circa 10 year old me hearing it for the first time. But I quite like it. Yeah, Lloyd is rather verbose as the Guide but so was Peter Jones. The sound design is good. Did I read somewhere they used binauarel recording in places? Sounded like that at points. (Was listening on headphones.)
Plot was rather convoluted but perhaps unavoidable in trying to get everyone back in the same place. Generally I don't like zainy stuff. HG2TG has always gotten a pass from me on that score as Adams sense of humour and enthusiastic imagination give it context.
