Hiring a Routemaster bus

There's THIS too...but they'd probably be better off hiring it privately and decorating it etc themselves I would've thought.
And the price?

And the ordering link doesn't inspire confidence:

Was it a black market jobby?

Did you buy it at a car boot sale?

Was it 'off the back of a lorry'? :hmm:

We thought about advertising on the London buses for a promotional campaign that lasted for about two months. It worked out much more expensive than buying a bus, paying a driver and petrol.

Routemasters are

Yes. But I found that link very easily by clicking on the same link you commented on (you'd called it totally useless, so I assumed it would be, but it wasn't at all - it was quite helpful in fact :D except that she doesn't have insider knowledge tbf... :hmm: ).

*bangs head against wall in flouncy manner

I'll tell you what people, forget it. I was trying to do my friend a favour and thought some folks on urban would be able to help with some insider info and cheap deals on Routemaster hire.

Unless she fancies paying a fortune or wants to change her wedding into a big lads stag night out, it looks like I was mistaken.

Well that wasn't entirely clear from the OP!

And having read tha same OP...and then followed the same links, I thought Minnies posts were very helpful!

You also said you'd still like to do the Brighton thing (in which case - as has been pointed out - the price doesn't seem so astronomical....although whether you have to pay extra for mileage etc I don't know :hmm: ).

Anyway - don't flounce! :D Where would we all go eh!? :D

I can remember that there was someone on urban who was able to sort out the hire of a Routemaster bus (we were going to do an urban daytrip to Brighton).

you are cliff richard and i claim my £5

*we're all going on a la la la la la* etc.

Yes indeedy! Her first link was EXACTLY what I was asking for! Couldn't get more on topic! No siree.
Lads Night Out
lads2.jpg

The Bus Club have teamed up with The Pussy Galore Cabaret Show to produce probably the best stag / lads night in The World!!

The complete guys night out begins at our exclusive meeting point in the centre of town where you will rendezvous with your hilariously entertaining transport for the evening a fleet of double decker buses with a mission to party all night long.

From our meeting point you will ride The Bus playing great tunes rocking and rolling to the venue hosted by The Pussy Galore team. On your arrival you will be greeted with a welcome drink and sumptuous buffet delivered by sexy waitresses and then led to the auditorium for the fun filled Pussy Galore Cabaret Show...

Both evenings The Pussy Galore Cabaret Show and Meat and Two Veg cabaret show collide on the crazy double decker buses for a cheeky night of flirting and fantasy until the early hours visiting four night clubs in the same evening Your all in one price includes entrance to the venues and of course being the VIP's that you are we don't do queues!!
Perfick for a wedding day! Pussy Galore and the lads can come along too!

That wasn't her first link - it was her second - and as I've said lots of times, I found the relevant bit very easily from spending roughly 2 seconds looking at the links on the left hand side of the page...and I definitely would've bothered looking for them even harder than that (for 10 seconds at least, defo  ) if I was the one who wrote the OP and had expressed an interest in hiring a routemaster for a wedding and a day trip....but wha'eva....

And it has been useful - you apparently didn't reckon on it costing such a huge wad and now you know eh?

< mouths a fucking great big WOW  >

why not try to hire a bendy bus instead? no-one likes them so theyre probably cheaper.

maybe you/they could set up the buffet along one side?

I have a decent working routemaster lurking in my bus garage. It's a favour to a bunch of bus enthusiasts. I don't know for sure what it's used for but some of my drivers have driven it. I will see what the score is. What month is the wedding?Oh it's September, that gives plenty of time to sort it out but really I should know on Mon or Tues if it could be a goer.
