Hipster Charity called Crack & Cider: what does Urban think?

I have seen the exact same font that they are using used somewhere else, I cannot remember exactly where, maybe on the side of a pub in Sheffield. You would thin that a 'creative' could come up with something a bit more original.

Looks like a pretty interesting initiative to be honest. By including the personal note with the gift they manage to humanise the giving. Far better than the children in need shit I heard on the radio this morning.

So... on their twitter account they have a picture from a launch event they held. They are showing off the fact that they are drinking expensive alcohol

I didn't even realise what they were drinking, I assumed that it was champagne but it is actually cider imported from Spain which is marketed as a luxury product. I think that butchersapron is right, they are deliberately being as offensive as possible to build a media profile like that employment agency that used pictures of holocaust victims.

i see Chambord there too - which is a blackcurrant liqueur i think

yes, this is just a career builder isn't it? vile

How 'Crack And Cider' Are Helping Homeless People This Winter

they have a pop up shop, they are posh, and their efforts seem to towards providing warm clothing for homeless people, rather than helping them get off the streets, but am I being unfair in instinctively sneering at their efforts?

“But after a while we just decided we would rather give a man on the street a winter jacket than do nothing. We can’t go out and buy everyone a house, we can’t just go and knock on 10 Downing Street and make them changes their policies, as much as we would love to. We can only do what we can do. I feel happier knowing that I’ve done everything I can.”

And there you have it. Cunts.

One customer, Rachel, said: "I'm one of those people who are wary of giving cash to the homeless and just this morning I was wondering how I could contribute in a way that ensured the money would be used as intended... great idea, hope it flies."

Another, Anis, said: "Many times I have felt guilty for walking past homeless people for whom I want to give something but I did not want to donate money that is wasted, so your venture is absolutely great."

Speaks volumes.

They're missing a trick here, they could have some kind of corporate branding on those black ski hats and jackets surely?

Nah. They've no long term interest in "crack & cider" as a brand. They themselves are the brand they're promoting. C&C will be tossed aside soon enough to gather dust on their LinkedIn resumes whilst they move onto whatever next.

This type of irony is tired. Aren't there any new tricks up these tossers' sleeves? If they're going to be annoying, I'd prefer to be irritated properly and in an original way.

Bet they're not in this for the long run. Just a bit of self-promotion along the way to making tonnes of money in the future.
