Help with measuring for a bra

Are you sure it's not just poor wording leading people to think that they say to do that?

E2A: Actually, this link does say to do that. That's bizarre.

I wonder if once upon a time, the measurement related to the actual garment measurement?

Because without any elastication, it would need to be bigger than your body measurement, although not by 4 inches. More like 4 cm. And probably less for a bra, given that it's supposed to stay put.

So that doesn't work at all.

So not an A cup then?

the one time I got measured they said I was DD but I left with a D cup bra. sometimes you need different cups for differents styles.

So I am claiming this as a victory for me and kanda.

:D

She did say she thought I was a DD when she looked at me, to be fair to you both. Have you any idea how difficult it is to admit Kanda's right about anything, let alone the size of my tits :(

i did the same myself measured myself and came up with a 36 b and the bra im wearing is a 34d!
recetly i have noticed my bras seem to be riding up at the back which indicates the 34 is too big so im going to try onsome 32 c bras and see if they fit any better
a friend of mine did the same, went from a 34 e to a 32dd and now has masses of cleavage...somrthing she never had before

i am not a 36 no matter what!

if you go down a back size, you must go up a cup size - so from a 34d, you'd want to try a 32DD

i'm worried about your friend who has effectively cut her cup size by two sizes:eek:!

I've got a bra that rides up my back all the time.. drives me mad.

But if I were to go down a back size, I think it would cut in to my skin..

Maybe it's just a duff bra and needs to be introduced to the bin.

Maybe I'll go to Rigby & Peller and get measured properly.

i think my mate wears her bra a cup size too small on purpose cos shes had a boob job and even though her boobs are huge there was no cleavage so she has literally forced them together!

I have been inspired to buy new bras. So, the Bravissimo site's problems section reckons I need to go down a band size and also up a cup size. So I need to go down for band and up two for the cup? I can't get to a shop, so I have to order online, and I don't mind returning what doesn't fit, but I'd like to know what size to order. :)
