Sinister World Music, by bellies!
Fucking love these
Oooh, early No Doubt popular with my daughter of a similar age to yours. Anything off Tragic Kingdom, but Total Hate is popular in this house
Paula Temple? Not rock but she rocks
Am sure she's already been mentioned on this thread, but I saw Courtney Barnett live last week and she definitely rocks
page 7 and not this?
Girls rock better.
Ex Hex. One of the only recent bands I have enjoyed.
Though I did like sleater kinny.
Sadly the only sleater kinny song I like.
I like this too
But again, it's sadly the only good yeah yeah yeahs song.
But that's all fairly mainstream.
I will bring the underground
She might like this track by Halestorm
This was on the beeb recently. Interesting to see how the likes of Elkie Brooks, Belinda Carlisle and Joan Jett started out. Girls in Bands at the BBC
Fanny were pretty good , They were probably the first real Female Rock Band That really rocked.I seem to remember they had Suzi Quatro's sister as a member.(I think her name was Paddy) there First Three Albums were:Fanny, Charity Ball and Fanny Hill. Followed up by Mothers Pride & Rock & Roll Survivors .Charity Ball was there biggest hit I had it on a Single.
Most of their best stuff is on the EP's not the albums:
Half of this lot ... from one of the greatest moments in rock and roll history (ie the first time I encountered the Cramps)
oops.. double post
I'm just listening to The Essential Chaka Khan and thought of this thread
I know you say she likes guitars and obvs that's fine but I was remembering how I'd watch CK vids on telly when I was a kid and just not understand how someone could possibly make that beautiful amazing sound come out of their mouth Just sort of unsettled but transcended by how wonderful humans could sound when they sing and that's kind of what it's all about, isn't it?
So I'd look into Chaka, if you can stand to
A Reference Of Female-Fronted Punk Rock: 1977-89
Should anyone be remotely interested, I think I saw that Babymetal are touring at the moment
Girls that rock is questionable though.
The wife saw them live a bunch of times, alas I never will now ...
Four seems a bit young to explain the concept, but I like some of these bands.
