Help me choose a dress...

Made a trip to Laura Ashley today (none in central London any more, had to go to Westfield)

The one that spangles suggested was very nice but totally didn't fit, bunched up around my waist, like so:

Same problem with the grey/black/white "brush stokes" one that trashy liked.

I didn't try the indigo one because i didn't like the fabric when I saw it in the shop.

Which means I ended up with this one: it's not terribly exciting but it'll be a good wardrobe staple:

And because I'd been all sensible buying a plain black dress, I got this skirt as well, which was half price in the sale:

Wow, you look great  But I swear I would walk straight past you in the street with that hair - you look so different from last time I saw you. But absolutely gorgeous

I like that black dress a lot, I don't think it's unexciting at all.

Thank you :) I'm a bit of a magpie sometimes and gravitate towards things which are bright or patterned. But over time I'm learning that grey and cream and black etc are actually very useful clothes to have.

I'm planning to wear the dress to my dad's OU degree graduation tomorrow

Imo the beauty of that dress is that you can accessorise however you want. Make it flirty, demure, fun, sophisticated, etc. All down to the shoes, belts and jewellery.

Today I'm wearing it with leopard print flats, a green sparkly cardi and this bracelet, with pearls and dogs on:
