Does anyone remember a series about a British POW in WWII trying to get sent back to Britain from his German prisoner camp by pretending to be mad. The twist at the end was when he got sent back home they realised he really had gone mad. I remember one scene when he poured a bowl of porridge over his head. Must of been 80s some time. ??

That was the one with David Macallum from the Man from Uncle, and now in NCIS. It was about escaping from Colditz and was called Colditz IIRC.

ETA It was based on true stories.
