It just seemed so unbelievable, but then I haven't seen Blade2 (or Blade 1, for that matter). It's just such a huge career change - but then, who'd have thought Jim Robinson from Neighbours would end up being a major character in lots of American TV series?

Or that Hugh Laurie would be the new George Clooney!!!

Guillermo Del Toro's aesthetic is so full and rich, I wanted to pause the film to take it all in- the costumes and the set design were just fabulous.
The richness and intricacy of the costumes, Del Toro's continuing motifs, his continued fascination for highly designed intricate clockwork contraptions and the way he makes darkness look so glossy and beautiful.

Yeah same here, i want to be able to touch things, see what they feel like, i think thats the mark of a very good film, you want to be there, as it were.

Really enjoyed that, although the plot was pretty wack. But you don't notice it because the key characters are well drawn and the look, as others have said, is fantastic.

I was really quite underwhelmed by it, and I loved the first film. The film looked awesome, full of GDT's beautiful style and touches, but it just didn't quite gel - the Abe/Nuada story felt rushed, and the Hellboy/Whatserface didn't quite feel developed enough.

This is exactly how I feel, it's not a great film but I really really enjoyed it and I'm lovin Luke Goss! He looks better now than when he was in Bros and I *hearted* Bros when I was younger!!

I think the majority of peeps quite liked the first one, i really liked the first one, you been to see step brothers yet then?

Nah, I'm going to see Hellboy2 over the weekend to clear the way for seeing Step Brothers and I might push my luck for Tropic Thunder too. My 14 year old self would call me a complete pussy, were he not such a spotty, speccy loser himself.

Don't get me wrong though, the visuals look great for the 2nd and were good in the first it's just I found Hellboy to be a very annoying character, very contrived in a weird way and the love interest thing was just complete bullshit and really pointless.

I rather liked the first one, but 2 is a very worthy sequel and arguably better.

The reboot from a few years ago was atrocious though.
