On April 6, 2005, despite its fast-moving worldwide success, while presenting the late-night BBC Radio 1 Rock Show in the UK, Trent Reznor stated that "The Perfect Drug" was his least favorite creation. His reasons were the short production time and the "overblown" video.
It's also the only single to have never been played live (the single doesn't even include the original version) and is just poor, it shows he was more focussed on playing doom/quake and strung out on drugs to create anything worthwhile.
"The Perfect Drug" music video was one of the most expensive videos at the time as the costs of building a refrigerated set, renting period costumes, and securing use of Gustav Klimt's The Kiss painting were all factors in the almost $1 million cost?
