Heated airers

I'm wondering about these too. We will likely want the heating on less, but then clothes will never fucking dry, and allegedly those airers are quite cheap to run.

I’ve been wondering too. We don’t dry anything in our damp house. I think the only room we’d get away with it is the tiny kitchen.

Dry-Soon Deluxe 3 Tier Heated Clothes Airer - any of the Lakeland brands are good. A bit pricey, but will transform your laundry.....
Blimey, they've gone up a lot! I wouldn't pay that now.

I've had one of these for years, plus the cover (which helps keep the heat in so things dry more quickly) and castors (which make it easier to push around when it gets in the way while airing). I don't use it if I can help it as I have an outside line, but it's good. And I got a mesh thing for delicates. The rails don't get too hot to touch, but I wouldn't put delicates directly on them. Otherwise I'm v happy with it. But shocked at the price.

If you're successfully drying things on an ordinary airer overnight anyway, it wouldn't imo be money well spent. But if you're somewhere cold and damp it's worth thinking about, especially if you can find a cheaper version.

I tend to go for a dehumidifier. Yes, it's both more expensive to own and to operate, but in addition to drying your clothes it dries the whole house out. And believe me, you can put the central heating 2 degrees lower when it's 50% humidity vs 80% and feel roughly the same.
