Do you get the feeling that the players should walk out on the club. Does the owner have the sort of funds to replace every player (squad players too) and appoint a new manager, thereby allowing him to make such an ultimatum.
Graham rix, george burley and former director of football jim duffy have all been sacked by romanov. It would be interesting to see what romanov actually wants, as success certainly isn't it.

Hearts are just hilarious.

Just when you think things can't get any more ridiculous at Tynecastle, the manager goes spa-ing it up mid season for his poor health, some guy who can't speak english gets put in charge and the players go moaning to the press that Mad Vlad is telling them they're getting chucked out.

You couldn't write this stuff!

You certainly couldnt IJ. As a lifelong Jambo, I have to admit this must look pretty funny to outsiders. The irony is that, despite the horrendous mismanagement and ourageous behavior by Mad Vlad including PICKING THE FUCKING TEAM!!!!, we are still 2nd in the SPL, Scottish Cup holders and just missed out on playing in the CL by one game!

Anyway, what can we do. We do not have a Barca style democracy, nor do we have 50000 season ticket holders like the OF. We are bound to this magalomaniac Lithuathian.

We have some of the best players in Scotland and the 2nd best goalie playing in Britain but week in , week out we have second rate Lithuanians foisted on us by an owner who cares more about television rights in Villnius than playing good football in Edinburgh. The last derby was proof of that. Some of our best players have fallen out of favour (Brellier, Webster) and shit players like Mikolaunaus and Jankauskas get picked over top players like Pinilla and Brellier. We have one of the most promising 18 year old in Britain, Calum Elliot and what do we do? Loan him to Motherwell and import more 2nd rate Lithuaniand from FC Kaunas (yes, who you may ask...not exactly Inter or Real eh?)

Yes, it's a fucking farce but tbh, you guys, if you are true football fans should not be laughing. Scotland needs as many decent clubs as possible. Is it cooincidence that as soon as a real 3rd force appears in Scottish football our national team starts regaining a bit of dignity and Setanta sign an enhanced deal injecting cash where it is needed. As someone who spent most of the 90's in Brighton and watched the once proud Albion nearly destroyed by one man (Archer), it could happen to (almost) any club. I'm sickened by the purile comments of Hibees and others who would like to see a Tesco where Tynecastle is and see the SPL return to the duopoly (well, monopoly at the moment). For 10 weeks last year, before Burley was sacked, the SPL briefly ceased to be a joke to the rest of the country and we even had a lead Hearts story on FF!!
BEWARE, this could happen to almost every club in the land. Vlad is a bullshitter who hasnt cleared our debt (only shuffled it around) hasnt signed any players apart from Beslija and apparently we havent paid for him yet - all the others are on loan from Kaunas.

But I'm equally sickened by the spineless reaction of the majority of Hearts fans and the 'Believe' mentality. We believed. We WERE on course to our first SPL title for 50 years (and the first non OF title for 20 years since we were lost the title in the last 10 minutes of the season but Mad Vlad pressed the self destruct button, Burley left and the rest is history. (Can you believe Robson and Ranieri were interviewed for the job and Vlad chose RIX!!) I can't imagine Celtic or Rangers fans putting up with such shit. What we need is a fans movement like Fans Utd or the Man U lot who stood up against Glazer.

I think the season is already Celtics which is sad because I don't think the Celtic team (Nakamura and McManus excepted) are any better than the Hearts team, they just have a great manager, a decent board who are not all related to each other and hard core fans who won't take any shit.

That's my 2p worth anyway.

I know what you're saying but I would stop short of where you are on the following:

Not Laughing: We should. Because it's funny. We're the opposition, we're supposed to take delight in your failures. I would expect nothing less from Hearts supporters were the situation reversed.

Winning the league: It's one of those 'if your aunty had balls' scenarios. Hearts would have been serious contenders, but in the early part of the season when the table looked most favourable, Celtic were still finding our feet. I would say that you would have run us a much closer second.

Hearts being as god as Celtic: I think you're kidding yourself a bit here. I think most of the Current celtic team (with the exception of Telfer) would walk into the Hearts team with no problem. The only Hearts players that could get a game for us would probably be Gordon and Hartley. Hartley would probably struggle for a first team spot though.

I'm not really a follower of scottish football, but yes it would be good to see it become a bit more than a constant 2-team league.

I think Chelsea are good for English football for the same reason.

IJ, I was hoping this wouldnt get into a my-teams-better-than-your-team nya nya but

1) Hearts have more players in the Scotland squad than Celtic
2) We have beaten you the last two times we have played you. Hartley's scoring free kick against you at Tynie last year suggests you would love to have him play for you.

so there:p

ps I loved the Freudian typo!

pps Even the Hearts team can't walk into the current Hearts team at the moment so Celtic players would have no chance (mind you, there may be some openings if we lose against the pars this afternoon) ha ha <gallows humour>

I didnt mean don't laugh at the soap opera (after all, I pissed myself at Artmedia, Clyde and Roy Keane last year)...what I meant was fact that it's so easy for a rich megalomaniac to buy a football club, asset strip and turn a 120 year old football stadium into a supermarket if that's what they want to do. That's not funny regardless of who you support:(

i fear that this is the future of west ham.
It could be the future of any number of clubs these days. Where will Chelsea be if there sugar daddy gets bored and leaves them with the debts....
What about Manchester United, whats the deal there?
Liverpool and Newcastle are getting sniffed around by some unkowns who god knows what baggage they'll bring. The last guy to nearly buy Liverpool just got deposed in coup!

Some very serious financial people are begining to talk about English football as being a money laundering risk. There is talk of European legislation to try to shore up the accountability of the English transfer system.

Hearts may just be the leaders of a brave new world in British football.
