Headphones: best choices for DJing, live mixing etc - discussion

Nobody's mentioned the option of buying some of the cheaper Sennheiser models. The Sennheiser HD-201 are just £14.99 on the link above and have really good reviews. I used them at the weekend DJing really good.

Sorry to revive such an old thread but I'm looking for a decent closed pair under £70 that are sound great, are tough enough to handle the chaos of the booth, preferably have removeable leads and aren't some overstyled, attention seeking confection.

The Allen & Heath Xone XD40 ticks most of those boxes, the Sony MDR-V55's look OK and the slightly garish Pioneer HDJ 500's get great reviews. Any others?

A bit above your price point but the Audio Technica ATH-M50s are really good.

e2a actually they might be a bit too fatiguing for dj work.

Those Hercules HDP DJ-Adv G501 headphones turned out to be a bag of shite. The folding mechanism was so awkward and clumsy that it was often hard to get the things on, and one channel cut out. Refund coming up.

Respect to Amazon for picking up the headphones and immediately refunding me without question. Bloody good service.
