Haye you ever been to a Cricket Match

Used to go to watch an England ODI and test every year... until they went and beat Australia in the ashes. For the next two years demand was stupid and getting a ticket was too hard.

Never had tea and sandwiches, just the usual overpriced and overcooked fast food you find anywhere there's a large crowd of people flog stuff too

Have watched county/test/ODI cricket at: Bristol, Gloucester, Cheltenham, Taunton, Bath, Cardiff, Southampton (both), Canterbury, Hove, Horsham, Tunbridge Wells, the Oval, Lord's, Southgate, Ilford, Northampton, Worcester, Edgbaston, Trent Bridge, Derby, Leicester, Old Trafford, Headingley.

Oh, and the MCG, SCG, Adelaide Oval, WACA, Newlands (Cape Town), Paarl, Wanderers (Joburg), St Georges Park (Port Elizabeth), Durban and Centurion (Pretoria)

Do I win anything? :)

<jealous> :D

I used to go to Lords a lot when I lived in London - used to take a picnic . Been to Headingley too.

chegrimandi was probably still in nappies when I first started loving cricket :D

Innit. And prices have nearly doubled. And do they reduce prices after a woeful display? Do they bollocks. I was there at the Oval the day England lost to NZ and dropped to 8th in the test rankings. A middle order of Crawley, Hick, Ramprakash, I believe. They should have been paying me.

I was there on the final two days of the Oval Test in 2005. Haven't been since, partly because of cost but also because, well, it doesn't really get much better than that :)

my posts on this thread were not entirely serious. I know lots of women like cricket and thats great...it's a fantastically absorbing sport...

jaysus!

Was also there when we won the series in South Africa. And saw Jimmy Anderson destroy Pakistan at the 2003 World Cup

Happy days

I have only watched cricket at the Rec in Bath which is coincidentally also the only place I have watched rugby.

Oh yeah, I've seen Yorkshire play in Bath too. Not really a ground though, more of a field.

does that mean you've only ever watched Barf and Scummerset?

Poor you :(

of course it is. women just get confused with the complicated laws. although when playing women are occasionally useful for making and bringing teas etc.

Oi! :D

I used to keep score and join those nice little dots up for wickets and maiden overs etc

.... When I wasn't making teas :D

I was at the 1981 Ashes game at Headingley when Botham came in and smashed the Aussies all over the place. What a great day that was.

We were on tele too. We'd bunked into this member's stand right next to a tv camera which kept panning round to the group of scruffy oiks bouncing up and down every time Botham smacked another boundary. We were those oiks.

The 20-20 at Beckenham is a good cheap evening out in the summer. Because it is so small they are fine with you bringing your own supplies.

Yes, I've enjoyed cricket at Beckenham in a number of formats including that one. But get there early for a decent seat - a problem at a lot of out-grounds without stands.

A Barmy Army t-shirt and a jesters hat :p

I snuck into Trent bridge to watch India clobbering England last year

I went back on the fifth day to try and sneak in again, and was dismayed to discover that with India needing only about 40 runs they were letting people in free anyway :(

A slap in the face with a wet fish:p

I could add The Rose Bowl, Queens Park Oval, Kensington Oval and St Johns Recreation Ground to that list (never made it to Sabina Park)...........

Any more from anyone? has there been an urbanite at every major cricket ground in the world at some time or another? India anyone? Pakistan?

tickets at lords today are £20, £10 for gadgies, u16 free - turn up and pay on the gate - cash only - weather set fair

stupid work & skintness

:(

I used to live in south London, stayed in a squat for a year at the Elephant and had mates who stayed in another squat in a block of flats that overlooked the Oval. The one and only time I've seen a cricket game was on their roof in the early 1990s - England v Australia - and the Aussies had some bloke with a massive tash - Merve Hughes???? Great view - better than the stands i think, and lovely for an afternoon - no idea what happened in the game though.
