Setantas going bust it seems, they've already lost the prem league rights for next year now. The prem terminated the contract setanta had with them. Which means monday night football may be back on sky. bet they lose the boxing soon to.

Sky can't get all of the packs can they?

In a way, good. More value for Sky Sports subscribers.

In a way, bad. Monopoly power etc.

Gutted it aint Haye fighting tonight.

I'd have pulled out if I was Haye too, his main money was coming from Setanta and to be locked into a 3 fight deal with the K's aint good business cos of the risk he's taking.

Klit' was fantastic in that, Ruslan C aint no mug but Klit' just controlled him with some brilliant boxing.

I actually quite enjoyed watching it.

yes, big up the sky monopoly... :hmm:

Before Setanta:
Monthly cost to watch major sports: Sky's £34

Setanta 'break' Sky's 'monopoly':
Monthly cost to watch major sports: Sky's £34 + Setanta's £12 = £46

How did the consumer benefit from Setanta's existence? In no way whatsoever, in face it screwed us more

This is what i mean. Setanta was more like an extra sky package rather than its own.

Virgin subscribers to Sky Sports got Setanta for free.

I think haye would give klit more trouble, but would not be able to cope with the jab and cross.

There has been more for the customer?

More boxing, more football, Gaelic sports, etc

Yeah, that's one good thing about setanta, I probably would've been fine with it if they didn't have all the monday night prem games, but its still too much to pay for people like me.

I suspect that a big problem with Setanta is the amount of people with a starview type dogybox.
I pay for the sky sports package, but wont pay extra for Setanta too so when there is something on there I either visit a friend with a dodgybox or go to the pub.

On the subject of last nights fight,I thought Klitchko showed a lot of Lennox Lewis traits which became obvious when I noticed Emannuel Steward at the end.
Still think Vitali is the better of the two Klitchkos though.

The quality of Setanta's coverage is fucking attrocious. Ridiculous for a pay TV channel.

Between that, and seeing as it appears that they won't be having any more Prem footy, I can't see that I want to keep up my subscription.
