Just home from the South of Spain where it's been all t-shirts, flip flops and beach days. Heating went straight on within minutes of getting through the door. Welcome autumn.
Had it on a couple of times when needed but I'm normally under a duvet (or two) at home anyway so I'm hoping to just have it on now and then for a few more weeks. It was bitterly cold for about a week (this was when we put it on) but has gotten a bit milder now. Maybe I'll be able to get into mid Nov before the heating goes on properly.
Yes, let's hope the cold weather of the past week or so will sod off till December like last year so I can open the window more and use the fan heater less ...
But I'm into long trousers now. I was going to wait until the clocks changed ...
The cat is probably causing you a net loss of heat. Animals with a smaller body size are poorer at retaining heat, so your cat is stealing your heat and causing your body to work harder to maintain a normal temperature. Cats are basically heat vampires.
Might balance things out if you cover yourself with hundreds of cats, mind.

Hundreds of cats would be nice. My cat might not approve though. All I know is that I feel warmer when the cat is on me. She only ever sits on me when I'm wearing a blanket or duvet
