Have you turned central heating on yet?

Central heating...

I've put it on the last couple of nights. You can feel the temperature drop as the nights draw in. Makes me want a big roaring fire with cut logs ready to toss onto it.

It has to be absolutely bitter out before I need to put it on in my flat, due to accumulated rising heat from the thin-blooded folk in the 4 flats below me. But the OH's big old Victorian flat with rattling sash windows has become parky of late. We had to switch up to 22 degrees the other night.

Crap economy 7 system so I have to decide how cold it's going to be in advance :( needless to say - my flat is hot hot hot today

Never had central heating, never will.
I hope I won't even light my gas fire until I'm stuck at home over the hostilities in 10 weeks' time.

It's a comfortable 19 degrees indoors at the moment, 14 outside, and I'm off on a long cycle ride shortly. :)

Most days I just stay in the pub until bedtime, but even when I'm not I'm not that cold. I have dragged myself home feeling a bit curly before and felt the chill, but it's nothing that a duvet and some food can't sort out :)

I had it on for a bit last night while the foal was having his bath as he gets really cold when he gets out. But that doesn't fit with any of those poll options. It's not really properly on yet - I think I've put it on once before at some point but can't remember when

Looks like a decent enough day for cycling to Clevedon and back - what little rain there is, appears to be falling on Wales before it gets here . ;)

I've had it on once, last week when I wasn't well, only for about 20 minutes to take the edge off the chill, and then realised the back door had been wide open all day :o

Mr madz told me not to because the system is on a 'loop' or something and he says it will fuck it up. I have something daft like 13 radiators, I don't want them all on but I worry about the baby getting too cold when she's come out of her bath and that.
unless you have 2 pipe system (I think that's the one) then no you can't do this as each radiator feeds into the next. If I turn one of my radiators off, all of them after that one in the chain are turned off too :(

I have thermostats on them, but even then if I turn down the one in the living room the dining room and all the ones upstairs never get as hot either  the only one I can really turn down is the spare room

Yeah, these all have individual thermostats on them. I've never got on with it as a system.

I've found an old halogen heater that will take the chill off whatever room I have the baby in, I think I'll stick with that for a bit.

Turned it on after getting back from hols on Tuesday, partly as we have lots of washing needs drying right now!
I have had it on for the odd hour here and there, but more to get clothes to dry than because I'm really cold.
Same here. Been a bit too warm when it has been on actually but loads of clothes to dry at mo.

You're not wrong

Ours sort of works all the time, there's a faulty valve. It seems to know when it's cold and start going, you can hear it, it's a bit worrying. I don't like it as I like to be quite cold but on the plus side it means I can have the window open and have fresh air late into the autumn.

not yet but will probably put it on end of the month. the bathroom is so small that it heats up enough with just the steam from the hot water. rest of the time we just wear extra clothes/blankets

put it on last week... but now it's got quite mild again, and i can't be arsed moving everything blocking the door to the cellar (where the boiler is) to turn it off again. so i'm roasting now :(

Still nope.............

still finding it hard to believe people are finding it soooo cold yet !!!
