Have you ever worked / lived abroad ?

I worked over on the Isle of Wight for a bit...

Culture shock was too much for me so came back to London

^^LOL . I keep seeing adverts for Guernsy but don't think that counts as abroad ! At the moment I am seriously watching my pennies so I can pay off my credit card debt so living abroad could happen. The places I have been looking at are Sri Lanka via VSO work , British Columbia as I think living in Canada would be very nice and would give me a opportunity to travel that side of the world or Melbourne.

I've lived and worked in Japan, Sweden and the Middle East. Also studied, and done short jobs, in France, and spent extended periods of time in Belgium.

Am back in the UK now, and can't travel much due to studying, and lack of money.

I'd work/live abroad again, definitely. Love it. Just gives you a broader perspective.

I moved to Australia 3 1/2 years ago and after a VERY dodgy start I feel now that I am better off here. Still not been back to the UK since arriving.
I guess my one bit of advice would be not to burn your bridges to return like I did. It left me feeling I had ruined my life and would never be able to go back (at least for 6 years that is)

Im in Australia at the moment...been here for a year and half. Ive lived in France,on a yacht and here now....you should definately do it.Its so much easier than you think its going to be.Fuck I am so hungover can barely keep my eyes open.and I have to some fucking filing ...oooh the joys of being a temp.

Are you there on a Working Holiday Visa? I'm going to do it in a year or so and I'm wondering how easy it is to get office temp work there. I will have had a couple of years of office experience, and I think I'll prefer to do something a bit more highly paid than picking fruit!

Year and a bit in Aussie, 3 in Thailand. If I can make a reasonable amount of money I'll be off again, the UK doesn't do a lot for me.

Spent my childhood in Hong Kong, Singapore and KL then went and lived in Belgium - I would love to live and work abroad just so my children can experience different cultures - really fancy Finland for some reason
