I think it was X-men or some such. It was so bad that, when I went to the toilet, instead of returning to watch the movie, I sat in the bar of the cinema to wait for my wife. (Who thought it was a great movie)

Nope, never walked out of a cinema...but I don't go that much.

I have however walked out of my own living room...when my daughter wanted to watch Moulin Rouge. The.worst.film.ever. I have also turned off Zoolander, on account of it being the most unfunny film of all unfunny films.

Agreed! I would have walked out early (very) if I'd gone to see that shite. A few years back I joined one of those dvd mail rental schemes and they sent it to me - not that I'd asked for it - and so I played it. I think I watched about 30 mins, and that was an effort. Awful.

i liked zoolander, i dont know why everyone is giving it such a hard time

Same here - it's actually great if you put your mind into "totally stupid mode." I've probably watched it a few more times than I should have. :)

Since I've always had an inkling of what the film would be like, its either surpassed, matched or been somewhat dissapointing. None of this has caused me to walk out on any flick I've seen on the big screen.

Nil by Mouth

Had to walk out of that one... was living in Hackney at the time having loads of trouble in the flats and thought...... bugger this if I want to see it I'll hang around outside my flat....

I was after some escapisum!

Empire of the Sun was the only one I've actually managed it in.

Several others came close - including Blue Velvet which just struck me as a load of utter wank. Stayed till the end tho. And then went back and watched it again a few days later going 'oh fuck , I was soo wrong about this one!'

That's about 20 minutes longer than I lasted then :D Truly fucking awful

Know what you mean, depressingly enough.

Moulin Rouge is wonderful, have you never been in love??? wheres your heart sir????, lost???? or has it just frozen over??? ;)

And Zoolander is very funny if you ask me :)

Dude Where's My Car. Utter Utter shite.

Jay and Silent Bob Strikes Back. Nearly destryoyed my faith in Kevin Smith. An utter betrayal to his usual genius.

I walked out of Gladiator. Mind you I'd seen it before.

I went to see this twice at the flicks and fell asleep both times. Seen it on DVD loads now though and love it. That aussie twat is just a big thug but I guess he can deliver a convincing line when he sets his mind to it.

I walked out of the 2nd Lord of the Rings film. I knew beforehand that it wasn't my type of thing at all but I wanted to see for myself what all the hype was about. I went with an open mind and I stuck it out for about 2 hours (felt like twice that long) but then I thought 'why am I wasting my time watching this nonsense?!' and pissed off to the pub to waste my time in a more enjoyable way.

I'm surprised that I'm the only one on this thread who has said they walked out on one of the LOTR films. Presumably that's because you all had better sense than me and never went in the first place!

I didn't exactly walk out, but I passed out while attempting to watch the LOTR films more than once, then woke up some time later and thought I had only missed a few minutes. It just went on and fucking on, oh look, here's some more orcs, lets kill them all. Bollocks.

Giles..

she's a madam, not a sir - but i had this conversation with my boyf last niight. i adore moulin rouge - saw it three times at the cinema, cos it's a "big screen-y" kind of film.

when i was a multiplex manager (june 1999 - november 2000) we had most walk-outs for magnolia and blair witch (one). during the same period we screened some unmitigated shite: star wars episode one, the haunting, deep blue sea, the cell, carrie2, the house on haunted hill, eyes wide shut, maybe baby... but no one ever asked for their money back for those showers of shit - just magnolia and blair witch.

i don't walk out myself - i kind of hope there might be some mitigating content, and at the very least i like to be able to give a critical opinion based on full information. came closest while watching the aforementioned Deep blue sea and house on haunted hill. didn't pay to see them, either... <shrugs>

almost walk out of deep blue sea, but was with a group of mates who wanted to stay. and the latest pirates of the carribean, but ishut off my brain and just perved at jonny depp instead

I've never walked out of a film, but there was one film I saw a few months ago which I should have walked out of. Can't remember the name of it, but it was a Korean film about a porn star. The film started off promisingly – a masturbation scene with a giant watermelon, no less – and I thought it might be a comedy but the film soon descended into a mind-numbing, tedious tale which ended with an excruciating rape scene :(

Sat through Mike Basset England Manager. At the end the then mrs said "I thought that was shite." Wish she'd said something earlier, or I had. I'll never get that time back! Worst. Film. Ever.

Nearly turned Brick off because I couldn't understand what anyone was saying that the sound seemed really bad (everyone talks in as if they're in a Raymond Chandler novel) - but endured and quite enjoyed it in the end.

No far too tight with my money to walk out of a film, even stayed to watch all of Pearl Harbour. Although to be honest it was a very tough decision to stay.

Zoolander is a brilliant movie and you're all weird

Zoolander is in my top ten favourtite films . It's bloody brilliant :D

I've never walked out of a film although the new Superman I came very close and was wishing I'd walked out when my other half did . And the final Lord of the Rings was so bad I almost walked as well . The only thing that stopped me was that all the life had been sucked out of me by the over sentimental montage bollocks I was being subjected too !

The Aristrocrats.

You know, that movie about one (really not very funny) joke, told by a whole bunch of comedians trying to elevate their profession to high art. It was complete bollocks!! The swearing didn't bother me at all...just the sheer self-indulgence of it all.
