What utter cunts.

And yes I know some of these type of people and yes they are utter twats

I had the misfortune to be trolling round the photography game at the time and having to do pictures of these YC wankers and their mates. Funny thing is it was the Thatchers children tories who always treated me worse than the toilet cleaner whereas old school tories never did.

I've never voted tory, simply because no one has ever held a knife to my throat in the polling booth and said 'vote tory or I kill you'.

I think that would be when I'd vote tory.

Indeed, although I passed on the "Hang Nelson Mandela" stuff, being opposed to capital punishment then as now.

Happy days. :D

I was in the FCS/CCF from 85 - 88 and don't remember the Hang Nelson Mandela stuff at all. I think it's acquired a historical resonance and significance way out of proportion to the actuality. There may have been a few nutters distributing HNM material they had just made on a Model B BBC Micro but it wasn't, as far as I can remember, part of the organisation's official political program. In fact, I don't remember much politics of any sort in the FCS/CCF; it was all about the pleasures of the vine and of the flesh in my day.

The FCS in the late 70s were a bunch of liberal pinkos who mostly joined the SDP en masse in 1981, leaving a gap that was filled for a brief period in the early 80s by a bunch of nasty wacko libertarians who got up the noses of the party hierarchy, so that Tebbit eventually sacked them in good old authoritarian style. This is the national organisation; most student Conservative Associations were dating and social clubs for the green welly brigade rather than political organisations.

The only times i would ever vote Tory are:

1)if it was a 2 horse race between tory and the BNP/another fascist party
2)if the candidate is a good person and doing things for their constituency, and a better person than the other candidates(irrespective of political party)

Otherwise i would never vote tory. Where im living now it is between tory and lib dem, with tory having a significant majority, so lib dem it is then!

Back in Leicester where i used to live it was a very safe tory seat, so i would go along and spoil the ballot, theres no chance any of that filth is getting my vote!

I have always voted labour in the past but now it appears I have nobody to vote for, It seems pointless voting Tory or Lib Dem just because the Labour party appears to have turned into something not Labour, what finally did it for me was the abolishon of the 10p tax rate, how on earth can a Labour government make the poorest people pay more tax?

how on earth can a Labour government make the poorest people pay more tax?

A basic tenet of financial decency is that tax should be progressive. The less you earn the less you pay. However, NL has turned this on its head with not only abolishing the 10p tax band but with other regressive tax measures like VAT and the various revenue raising scams disguised as green measures such as bin charges, fines for not recycling, fuel duty etc etc which all fall disproportionally on lower earners as they are a bigger chunk of their monthly budget.

Keir Hardie would be spinning in his grave if he could see the antics of Brown and co.

There is no longer a proper labour party it is dead.
