My bottom line these days is would I hire any of these people to work for me and there are very few who do more than murder the English language.

I feel like punching one - is Brown available for a virtual slapping yet ?

I didn't think that you were in the position to hire and fire people. If you are you could vote Tory you bastard. ;) Aren't you a mere worker, a computer technician in a school or something similar? Also I had you down as a supporter of Green politics. The Green Party my be my bolt-hole in the next election.

No, and don't think I ever would, but I have voted for New Labour which as some on here have said, isn't much better. :(

The one time I sat on an interview panel I was conned by a bastard in a suit who made my life a misery for 3 years - a toughie when there's only two of you to get all the work done ... my supervisory role is minimal. (he turned out to be a combination of Bush, Homer Simpson and Frank Burns from MASH - I was relieved when he finally went "sick" and ultimately left)

I'm thinking more in terms of choosing professionals to fix my roof and things like that.

I tend to vote for whoever looks likely to actually be in a position to deliver the Green agenda. (And since I've now learned the main parties are all the same, I will now be happily "wasting" my vote on the actual Green candidate.)
.

I have as it happens. Used to vote for our local Tory County Councillor years ago when I lived in Peterborough. He was a nice old fella who did a lot for the community so he got my vote.

Similarly the only person who has ever been of help to me and hubby is the tory MSP so he did get my vote at the last election.

Who you supposed to vote for when the choice is SNP(useless incompetent wanker), Tory(last time someone decent), Labour(unknown and won't ever get my vote unless there's is a radical change in party policy) or Lib Dem(usually some wishy washy do gooder twat)??
The only way to get SNP out in this area is to vote tory but I dunno if I'll do it again. Depends on the candidate. I gave up on all the parties in this area yrs ago :(

Never voted Tory, never voted Labour; I did vote Lib Dem a couple of times but am unlikely to again, they seem to have basically died.

I'd be perfectly prepared to vote Tory tactically, mind you, if the outcome made up for adding one to the number of people who the Tories could say voted for them - it's just a piece of paper, it doesn't have any meaning beyond its effects, it wouldn't actually graft a top hat and a sneer onto me - but I can't think that that will happen in my lifetime. I'm not sure how that would work actually.

Bush, Homer Simpson and Frank Burns from MASH

So that is you is it? I hope you realise that two of those three are fictional characters - the creations of other people. Only Homer Simpson is real. :D

I don't think that there is any such thing as a wasted vote. On that basis people should only vote for the expected winner. That would not be democratic. Each election is just a single step in the progress or regression of a party. The message given to a minority party by an increasing vote over a period of years can be great encouragement to the party and its workers.

 no - he was the idiot I hired.

Ah I thought you were describing your role as supervisor. It was the inclusion of Homer Simpson that had me fooled. I find him a sympathetic character. I would vote for him in an election.

I note your colleague went "sick". I hope you have destroyed all evidence of the stuff you were putting in his tea. ;)

I haven't just voted Tory, I've been one. And a Young one at that.

I'd consider voting Tory again but it's by no means a foregone -- or even likely -- conclusion.

I used to be a member of the Conservative party until the latter days of Thatcher, she turned me against Conservatives more than anything. Interestingly there were many others that I knew in the Party who felt the same. Some of these are now supporters of Labour saying that it is closer to the original Tory party than the current Tories are.

'Have you ever voted Tory?'

I’d sooner flay myself with a very blunt ¾” swan-neck mortise-chisel; just before eviscerating myself and sautéing the resultant mess in sesame seed oil.

Yep, several times and will again. Locally I tend towards the Lib Dems because they seem generally better at local policies.

I've voted Tory at the last general election. Although my MP has turned out to be a twat, since moved and got a different MP who I've not met.

At the moment I'm not even sure I'll vote at the next General Election.

Never have, never could, never would..

Should the day come when the only options on the ballot paper were respect, BNP or tory I would spoil my ballot.

Good arguement why all local councillors & council elections should be non-political.

I'm 29 and I'm too young to have been on the electoral register for the poll tax. How did you manage that?

I used to vote and have voted for all sorts of people but never Tories. There are limits.

Whenever the electoral people came round I'd say I was house-sitting. Stopped me opening accounts and getting credit cards though, and I still got fucked by the poll tax eventually.

Pre-1997, when I was a member of the Labour party, I would have never dreamed of doing so, and I haven't - yet. But these days I view Labour and the Tories as much of a muchness and after 10 years under new Labour and the illegal war they dragged us into, I will never vote Labour again.

My ward is a Labour stronghold, with the Lib Dems second so I will probably be voting Lib Dem both in the next local and general. If I were in an area where the Tories could get Labour out in the general election I would have no hesitation in voting Tory. It's just choosing one set of evil bastards over another set of similarly evil bastards.

Thanks Tony, Gordon and friends for completely disillusioning me.

Similar to my view. I totally HATED the tories when they were in power and longed for a progressive thoughtful government but instead we got our hopes dashed with NL.

I think the treachery of Bliar and Brown is so great that I will probably never vote for them again either. Me I'm voting Tory in one local contest, maybe Lib Dem in another local contest (basically whoever stands the best chance of beating the bnp), and either Lib Dem or abstenstion in the next GE.
