Have you ever over turned a vehicle?

More gears doesn't make faster cars though....

No, definitely not. But going around a corner in fourth might still be appropriate in a car with a six speed box where it would either mean going too fast or at far too low an engine speed in a five or four speed box: I'm well aware of the gear ratios in my current car being considerably closer together than those in its predecessor's five speed box.

Sometimes 4th on a corner isn't that loony...

(mine has 6, now. Doesn't stop me looking for No 7 on the motorway, sometimes, though...)
kin el... hope you don't look for 7 too hard given the location of reverse:eek:

Ah, that's not actually my gearlever: it's off something called a "Pontiac", I believe :)

No, mine is away to the left, and up. Much more sensible place to put it, in my view...handy for a quick grope of the passenger's knee (which usually goes down well), and avoids inadvertent engagement of reverse at high motorway speeds. The previous Celica had reverse where 6th is on this one, which had the potential to be just a bit

A robin reliant, on someones drive, while we were all drunk. Took it in turns to get in and be rolled around.

wierdly enuff thats wat my step-dad used to do,fill the robin up with pillows then take a roundabout too sharply until it rolled over!!!!

You can't change into reverse at speed, it just crunches. They did it on mythbusters.

5th to 1st however is very possible, as I learnt in my driving instructors Corsa. Whoops.

I got my old Fiat Panda on it's side once, testing my rally driving abilities on grass. Half flipped it over. Fortunately on a soft surface, the only real damage was a broken wing mirror and some big green scrapes. Pushed it back over and drove away! It did have a strange crunchy noise about it ever after, probably from landing back on it's wheel with a thud.

The car was a total fucking wreck when I'd finished with it though. Haha.

i was young, foolish, quite delinquent, drunk and stoned with 7 other similar youths. i was not in the car, it was not mine, it was parked and it made the most unbelievable noise as it went on to it's roof. i know it's not quite what you meant :o
:D

Couple of cop cars during the last riot up here. Took quite a few of us.:D

you should and i can't belive i was waiting that long for someone to ask quiet frankly!:p

I don't really get what hapend to be honest. Came into a corner at about 50-55 which might have been a tiny bit fast on reflection(not a lot fast though) and the fucker just refused to turn, must have flicked some ice or something i guess, was about to plough into a lorry coming the other way managed to get round that but went off the road.

Was expecting to come to stop and then reverse out without much problem. Ploughed through a hedge again wasn't expecting much nose dug into the ground and launched the car over. Ending up on the roof.

Twas a weird one to be honest. I normally change down to 4th for it but other then that even baring in mind the rain i did nothing differently.

Insurance company had better not dick me about.

I rolled mine last month. Coming back up the A3, longish right-hander, I was in the outside lane. Hit a patch of black ice, and the back end started coming round. Steering, brakes; nothing. We went sideways down the dual carriageway for what seemed like ages - fuck only knows how we managed to avoid any other cars - then the front driver's wheel hit the kerb. We were probably still doing between sixty and seventy at this point.

Apparently the first roll was more of a somersault. Then it landed on a side, and rolled a couple of times. We eventually landed at about 45 degrees, right-side-up, on a wide verge at the side. I'd got a cut on my head where I'd smacked into the door pillar, and my girlfriend had to be taken to hospital with a suspected fractured pelvis (fortunately this turned out not to be the case). Apparently it took four fire crews to cut us from the wreckage.

I'd say it was pretty much the most horribly unpleasant experience of my life.

bloody hell guys!

kained no offesnce like but please take some advanced driving lessons and slow down really

twice in a life time off the track is too many...

espcially as you say you don't know what caused it and you were into the path of an oncoming lorry that's too fast too late braking causing the car's wieght to shift from rear to front changing the level of steering traction which created the understeer and sadly there's two reasons for this 1 broken steering colum 2 carring to much speed into a bend and then not losing it in a controlled fashion (ie braking in a striaght line) really fella don't wipe yourself out.

Beisdes Advance driving courses are a laugh and you get to learn to control a car in more extreme circumstances and without endangering others.

been in 2 car accidents as passenger none as a driver,Hit black ice on a motor bike but came off, bike hit iron rails turning over twice, the bike write off brand new full pay out from insurance company, I walked away with cuts on leg and hand.

I've never rolled a car (even when I was racing...),but I DID spin one round like a top once !
Many,MANY years ago, when I had a Chevette HS (the rally car variant),I was going around a massive roundabout just south of Leeds city centre (road was a bit damp) when all of a sudden, without warning....WHAM!...spun around like a top ! There was a double decker bus right behind me when it happened too. Ended up facing the bus,me grinning like a bloody idiot ! :D . Bus driver must have thought WTF ?? Anyway,I sorted it out after 2 or 3 seconds and drove off in the correct direction.
After I thought about it,I concluded that there must have been some diesel spilled on the road. (That car used to stick to the road like glue ! Usually !). :)

More by luck than judgement tho eh?

Anyone who crashes a car and then next time they approach the same piece of road actually take it faster rather than more cautiously deserves not to be around contributing to the gene pool.

jesus...chill the hell out, yeah.

he should've died in a car crash then?

reckon you should keep that award for yourself.

the alfa 75 ts clover TC used to do that with the sniff of a rumour of rain in the other hemisphere you'd be all lined up on a end and then oh hello that's my rear end leading the car ... nope there it goes again... :D
