Have you ever been on the telly?

a few times.. on Crimewatch of all places after the Reclaim Parliament Square (my fucking philosophy lecturer saw that one).. a few from music biz do's (you can see me looking disinterested during a secret Porno For Pyros showcase on MTV).. a few news programmes - chatting keenly to Bruce Kent at Greenham is a fave.. stuff like that..

and i'm on a fucking Leatherface DVD, stagediving and hurting my head. the sad thing is, this was last year :(

I only asked as I sometimes work on smoking prevention projects with kids where they write lyrics about smoking.
cool!

yeah i'm certain i said the same thing.. ah well..

My dog is more famous than me...he was in Gimme Gimme Gimme. The big wedding episode. He is the handsome little Westie.

I was supposedly on STV news back in the eighties when NUS occupied the student loans office in Glasgow. I never saw it myself, unfortunately.

I did loads of extra work in the mid 80's, including Tripods wehre I kept getting into trouble for taking my hat off (it was hot) and even bigger trouble when they caught me trying to steal my costume :D

ummm - twice, in the past. I was in the audience for the last ever MaryWhitehouse Experience recording. Front and centre - Rob Newman even complimented me on my outfit between takes, which made my year (I was 18). Mr Milky-milky sat behind me in the audience, so I was on screen a bit then, and also in a lot of crowd shots. I was wearing a velvet hat (people did in 1992) and you can see it in sillhouette throughout the show, including during the "History Today" (that's you that is) section, which was later released on video... (i used to play it at uni and say "look, that's my hat")

Then I was also on "Looking Good" in 1999 (BBC2 evening fashion show with Lowri Turner) - my friend and I had a haircut makeover. I hated mine. But didn't say so then. I knew a researcher and it seemed like a good idea at the time. Everyone saw it (it's been repeated on terrestrial and cable a million times) and I really regretted it. Lowri Turner turned up to do the "reveal" bits at the end of the day (and all the bits that made it look like she'd been there all day) - she was very unfriendly, permenantly on the phone to her agent about wanting to be the next carol smilie (!), stroopy about the makeup artist etc. We'd had a brilliant day, drunk some vodka (only a taster) but the crew lived in fear of her getting stroppy so we couldn't tell her...

Let's see -

1. I was on the Irish rip-off of University Challenge ('Challenging Times') twice.

2. I was interviewed outside American Bar, Liberation Avenue, Asmara, by a Swedish duo whose documentary about the Eritrea-Ethiopia war was apparently later broadcast on Swedish TV.

3. Don't know if that gorilla suit incident ever made it to the screens, though.

Did you have a hissy fit?

that's in the rules if you're on Airline isn't it?

I was on screen during the darts world championship at lakeside this year.

There was a close up of my boyf (dressed as bobby george) and I was in the background laughing - very unflattering shot but still really cool!

Going again next year and we are definitely working on better outfits so we can all be on the telly - stupid hats seem to be the way forward!

It was on a Wogan special during the 1992 general election and they had representatives of all the different parties on with kids from different schools (I was 6th form). I had a good question for the LibDem chap because the local Liberal controlled council tried to close my school. I asked it and got the usual crap answer from the guy (Simon Hughes IIRC).

However, just as he was answering, unknown to me, the camera switched back and I had my finger up my nose. I looked up at the monitor and you could see me slowly remove my finger and attempt not to laugh. By the time Terry asked "did that answer your question" I could only mumble "ummmm.... yeah". My career in politics was over. :( :D

I was interviewed for local TV about the opera we were doing at school. It was never shown.

I was in a few scenes of The Last Machine, which was a series about the history of cinema presented by Terry Gilliam. I had to stand in a balloon basket next to Bryan Pringle and raise my top hat on cue. I then played a patient undergoing surgery, which involved lying on a bed for an hour with assorted animal offal perched on my stomach.

Been interviewed on local news for work a couple of times for one of the tedious features they run when no giant marrows have been grown or guinea pigs nailed to doors. Looked a right cunt.

Was on when I was a kid, 6 year old when some MP came to my first school.

I was on Sky Sports playing paintball

And I been on Metro FM requesting a song :D

ive been on question time a couple of times when they did shots of the audience or scanned to the person next to me asking a question
why did dimbleby always ignore me?!
been on sky sports- during a pitch invasion of the gnoll after munster beat the ospreys
cant think of anything else...
a cousin of mine works behind the scenes at the bill and has been caught on camera in the background a few times
a mate of a mate
when she was an ickle girl was on live and kicking in the audience sitting cross legged on the floor
her claim to fame:
as terry venables (the guest) uncrossed + recrossed his legs he kicked her in the face!!

Hmmm was in a Clarks shoes TV ad donkeys years ago and was in some fashion show thing as a kid :o er had mini interview bits on BBC news and channel 4. I'm sure one day I'll be properly "discovered" :( ;)

I bet there are a couple of well famous people on here though...

A video I once made was shown on a local (Meridian TV) access show called 'Freescreen' every night for a week circa 1993/4.

It's one hell of an albatross in waiting if I ever become famous or anything... :D
