magneze I don't see ZoneAlarm Extreme Security listed on the Google Drive spreadsheet that the article you listed links to. Do you think it would be better to wait, or to try the registry edit?

Well I just finished the system restore and almost everything seems OK (the laptop won't recognise my Nikon D7100 when I plug it into a USB port).

I use ZoneAlarm Extreme Security, so maybe I need to wait for an update to that before I allow the update to try again, or maybe I could try the registry edit myself.

Not sure tbh but from what I've read the registry key basically disables the patch unless the antivirus has updated the registry. So you could install the patch and edit the registry to disable the patch, but what would be the point?

Yeah - I've just disabled the update after reading through all of the comments on that article.

e2a - and I've just looked in RegEdit and that registry key is already there.
