Hats, do you?

Pete Doherty helped bring hats back innit. Would that make him what fashionistas call a fashion icon? probly, lol.

I love hats but sadly I don't have a hat face, every hat makes me look like a fucking idiot.

I have a few different types of hat for various occasions. I would love a pill box hat and a 40s suit to go with it. I'd even take up smoking for the night if I could find one of those cigarette holders :o

I am a hat wearer, and a scarf wearer. Sunhats in summer and silly wooley or court jester style hats in winter with bobbles. Hats tend to suit me cos i got a very small face/head.

I've got loads of hats. I always wear one in winter to keep my hair dry, summer hats I am not so keen on because they make me too hot.

these are jimmy hats.

Thank you, and thank you for limiting the pics to unused ones. :D

I tried on a fabulous huge straw hat today but walked away from it because I just know I wouldn't wear it. Three picnics does not justify £30. Cold weather only really (woolly beret etc). Also, I have a big head so most women's hats are too small for me.

i've a number of hats - for the summer i have a few caps (no baseball ones), a couple of cheap straw hats and a nice panama.

for the winter, i've a fantastic triple 5 soul hat with long floppy bits to go over my ears - somehow it's lasted me about 5 winters, and still going strong - i've bought a number of beanies in that time which have fallen by the wayside...

We love hats in this house.
We own Trilbies, Bowlers, Beanies, sun hats and even a Pith Helmet.
I find it difficult to find ones that suit me but love them all the same.

We even have one of these.

I love my Beret

I'm always amazed at the inadequacy of people's dress in both summer and winter.

Thinsulate beanie in winter, bush hats in summer. Form follows function - and they need to be low cost as I lose several every year.

I rather appropriately lost a bush hat in the tropical house at the Eden project last year - I was particularly pissed off as the place was already over-priced and over-hyped.:p

That goes for me too - I must have about 10 hats of various types but I've never found one that I'm really happy with wearing. The last one I bought was a nice Frank Sinatra style hat a couple of weeks back in New York, I wore it the day I bought it but I've never worn it since and I doubt that I ever will again. They always mess my hair up anyway, so if I go out in one then I have to keep it on all day, so they're more bother than they're worth.

I like hats. For summer, a straw trilby hat. Also a couple of thick-knit woolly hats, a Russian-style sheepskin hat with ear flaps, and a gatsby cap.

I used to have one like that :D

Really!? I'm kind of in two minds about it, I can't even remember what got me started on wanting one, but I think that hat, a massive pair of shades and I'll look like a complete twunt, but still, I really want one.

I've got a massive head, so it probably won't fit anyway. :(

Don't get started on that. That fucking crash helmet I had to wear all the way to the Dales. Remember that? It was so tight it forced my head into the shape of a mango for the duration of the trip that was made three times longer than it should have been cos of that shite bike you'd procured from god knows where

Topped off by breaking down on the way back and having to get a furious father to drive out and pick us up. By which time I was so stoned I was considering eating what apparently really was, by now, a mango and not my head at all :D

Don't get started on that.

When I think about it now that trip was like fear and loathing in Wensleydale Vegas. The back garden of the holiday cottage was coated in mushrooms which went very nicely with the rhubarb crumble with an ounce of hash in it. Those were't days.

That bike was a Honda CD 175, a reet classic!

Won the hat on ebay btw. £5 for the hat, Ten frigging quid for the postage

Those were't days.

True. It was a day and a night and a day iirc. Congrats on the new headwear btw :)

You always go for the expensive postage options dont you, convinced you've got a right bargain :D I'm thinking about that dinging bowl thing from India that cost like 20p on Ebay but a fiver postage lol.

Does my head look big in this?

It was 1p. Well, 2p actually. At first I decided I didn't want it and so bid against myself with my other ebay account, 2p as opposed to my original 1p bid. Then someone on here said that they were quite a nice thing to have, the ol' prayer bowl, so I paid my 2p thinking I'd got a right bargain and then found that the postage was £15. So not only was the postage as steep as fuck but I ripped myself off for a penny into the 'bargain'.

Anyway, I've got my tank hat.

Not sure about the...colour? Shape? Utter ridiculousness?

I don't hat, no. I sometimes think about buying one, but either I forget about it or don't end up seeing one I like. I should at least buy myself a sun hat, though.
