Yes, but how the bass is cooked is relevant too - and saying it's "fried" just doesn't work here. It sounds fundumentally wrong and would stick out like a sore thumb on a menu. An egg is "fried" in a greasy spoon, an expensive cut of fish is "pan-fried" in a restaurant.
