Hat Party - Brixton Canterbury Arms 19th August

On Friday some friends (and Offline regulars) are hosting one of their occasional and marvellous Hat Parties at the Canterbury....

it's just £2 in with a hat (any hat!) and £3 without, running from about 9pm till late. Music policy is eclectic but funky (hip hop, funk, jungle, reggae, soul etc) and i'm playing at some point (i reckon a reggae/hip hop collision is in order).

should be a cracking night, and somewhere to head after the Albert reopening for sure..

it's cheap as all hell, but a couple of guest list places to the first two to PM me.

It's a fun night alright, although Dub should have no problem improving on the utterly crap, sorry 'eclectic' DJing at the last one.

Hey, I actually managed to avoid being asked to play that last month, but I'm a Man Of The People when it comes to DJing. If they want to dance to a track and I've got it in my collection: boom! It's on the deck and no messing!

But the DJing was noticeably awful at the last hat party we were at: one song went on for about 15 minutes before stopping dead for no apparent reason, the music genres went all over the place (sometimes a good thing, but this was just a bit too random!) tracks would play for about a minute until the DJ changed her mind and then shoved something different on and the dance floor got steadily more and more confused.

But I still had a top night.
