Has the Custard Factory gone shit?

i used to work at one of their other projects! doesn't seem to have much info on what's actually gonna happen with the area. it's a shame, soooo close to the city centre but an utter utter shithole. the abandoned building next to our office was a health hazard, full of shit and needles.

the only thing that concerns me really is that the independent shops wouldn't survive if rents went up due to regeneration. lots of families live in the area, some big tower blocks going on, but it's a shit place to live at the junction of 3 major roads.

What, one of the other CF projects, or the architects?

Big plans for the area, several reasons for slow progress but these are soon to be out of the way. Lots of development on Fazeley / Floodgate St planned in the very near future and HUGE plans for the whole site. Watch this space, basically.

Rent will always stay affordable for the shops and the smaller studios, it's all part of the plan.

No, the architects. I used to be based at the St Luke's site which they seem to have a hand in rebuilding. I'm reading some council documents about the regeneration now. they make interesting reading, particularly regarding the proposed tescos.....

e2a, yeah, i'm not what i think about the digbeth regeneration plans, don't know enough about the area. the irish community seem to be getting a raw deal tho.
