2cv's never go fast enough though
I was once waved through a speed trap by the policemen - I think he was proud I was above 60(it was downhill with a backwind
)
A similar thing happened to me in my old Mini, which was capable of holding a surprising speed once it got going. Theoretically its top speed was 78 IIRC, but I saw an indicated 90 on a few occasions.
I went through a speed trap on the Leven-Beverley road at well over 80mph one evening. The copper pointed the gun at me and I thought, 'Oh shit,' and slowed down to 50 expecting to be pulled by the next car up the road, but they just sat and watched me go by.
I could only surmise that either the gun didn't work, they didn't believe the reading, didn't try to do me for it because I could have used the 'my car won't go that fast so it must be your equipment' defence (which is how that bloke who got pulled on a Fireblade at 179mph on the A1 got away with it) or were cheering me on to see if I could get 90 out of it!
