Has any song ever reduced you to tears?

Music frequently makes me cry.

Usually folk music but other forms have been know to from time to time.

God, I cried listening to '9 to 5' once. Not sure about that one :hmm:

*cough*

I can't liiiiiiiiiiiiiiive, if living is without yooooou,
I can't liiiiiiiiiiiiiiive, I can't liiiiiiiiiiiiiiive aaanyyy moooooooore!

The last song I cried to on the headphones was by Sia, the chick who songs with Zero 7, her live version of "Breathe Me"... erm, it affected me, it was the timing of it, heat of moment stuff.

Probably a year ago though. I don't cry much.
Maybe there's something wrong with me, but I very rarely cry, unless I laugh until I cry, and even by typing that it sounds somehow callous.

Fuck it, I'm a cunt, it's all good.

was that on 6 feet under?

If you mean music Brenda plays on Six Feet, then yes i'm pretty sure she plays a song off Simple Things at some point, as well as a couple of Thievery Corporation tracks. Late night squeltch... :)

Couple of Elliott Smith songs have definitely got me dewwy eyed; Between The Bars i'm pretty sure was one of them, and The Biggest Lie, pretty sure i've got a bit choked up listening to Rumours by the 'Mac too haha..... :o

Albatross by the Shadows. My mum absolutely loved it, she'd sort of drift to a stop whenever she heard it. 21 years after losing her I can still see her, just listening to it. I still can't, which is a shame. It's a lovely piece of music.

For anyone who's ever been dumped for someone else (which is a lot of people), I'd recommend this cheerful and uplifting classic from the great Johnny Paycheck:

Guaranteed to leave you with a spring in your step and a song in your heart.

NOT.

Not very different from the original, though, is it?

A whole world of difference, if it's the one that moves you to tears

Ne Me Quitte Pas has been covered by a fuckload of people - each one is sad, but only one really breaks me

Frank Turner - The Queen Is Dead & Reasons Not To Be An Idiot (details on the Frank Turner thread somewhere in this forum)

It's a conventional answer, but Johnny Cash's version of Hurt really did make me weep buckets.
This one made me well up when I saw the video.

The only other time it happened was when John Peel died, I didn't cry when I heard the news, but later that day Teenage Kicks came on the radio and moved me to tears.
