Has a film ever made you feel sick?

I went to see Hannibal with a really bad hangover. That bit when he slices off a bit of the guy's brain, fries it and feeds it to him nearly made me faint. I started seeing blues and greens and hearing a rushing sound in my ears. Had to look away for several minutes and take deep breaths. Fucking disgusting film.

Totally bad taste and not a very good plot, but in terms of the imagery-lots of strong red and lots of shadow and darkness combined with the sound track (by Goblin) which consists of terrifying synthesised bass that made me feel physically sick....it was the music more then anything, that alone fascinated me. Very powerful catholic images, blood , wine and women are either pure, young and innocent or old ugly and evil.

yep without the soundtrack that film wouldn't be worth remembering.

soundtrack :eek::cool:

Saw 2 - the pit of needles
Irreversible - the headmashing at the start and the rape sequence
Requim for a Dream - pretty much everything that happens in the last half hour

Cloverfield has been mentioned at least twice - why? It's just a monster! Well-done and everything, but hardly vomit-inducing?

I think its more to do with the single viewpoint camera work. Often going on its side and upside down.

It makes people feel queasy - apparently. I was fine myself.

over 80 minutes of flashing lights. bobbly camera work. irritating people screaming. americans.

it was one horrific experience and as visually sickening as Batman Forever (a film i forgot to mention).

Deliverance, John Boorman... not exactly sick but really disturbed

I agree with that. The whole adventure slowly going more and more pear-shaped really gets into you.

I saw 'Soldier Blue' when I was sweet 17 and I really was not ready for the violence. I think it must have been stronger on the screen than when it si shown on television because there are scenes I remember which I haven't seen since. It left me shaking an hour or so after I had left the cinema.

Yeah, 'Soldier Blue', not a film I'd fancy seeing again. :(

There have been lots of versions of it out, so you probably saw a very cut version for TV.

Ichi the killer comes close.

Yup same here, really didnt like that at all, or the bit in Old Boy where he eats the live octopus which apparently put up quite a fight as well:eek:

And yeah the last 20 minutes of Requiem for a dream makes me feel quite sick too.

My mum was physically sick outside Bexleyheath cinema after watching Bonnie and Clyde poor mamma :(

Watching "Supersize Me" in film class made me and half of the class feel really sick after - I must admit, I skipped lunch cause of it. Not so much disturbing as gross out when you keep seeing him barf up his MaccyD's all the time. I can't watch other people be sick, cause it makes me want to as well.

I know I've seen films that I've found disturbing and have felt really sick at but I honestly can't remember which ones they were *_* must have mentally blocked em out!

American History X, the 'bite the kerb' scene

yeah that was pretty shocking, didn't make me sick, but more shocked and horrified which is a good effect from a film. More thought provoking about the nature of the 'kicker'... nasty fucker
