Harroween FA Trophy 31st October, DHFC Away aka your not my dad (ladz on tour)

It's oh so quiet...

Thoroughly professional display on Saturday without Sweeney and RMW, as well as Ash parked on the bench. Harrow had the bulk of the play in the first half and we seemed to be making life a little hard for ourselves. Although they were camped in our half for a lot of the first 45 minutes they weren't actually creating a huge deal of anything. In the middle of it all Nyren scored a beautiful Nyren goal, cutting in from the outside and making space before wrong-footing the keeper from outside the box.
Second half was much better and players and fans alike started to have some fun. Scannell deserved his goal from the penalty for working his socks off out wide. I think it was a penalty but it was fair to say that Willock made sure the ref gave it. Having given it I think everyone was baffled as to why the defender wasn't sent off as the last man. Fair to say that the ref was pretty dreadful but he shared his dreadfulness out reasonably equally to both sides.
Then the last 25 minutes was all about Dean McDonald. Couldn't really call it a cameo as he pretty much dominated the rest of the game, tying the Harrow defence in knots. He got his goal, which he seemed rather pleased with, but might have had a hat trick with a little luck. He was helped out considerably by Jarrett who also made a welcome return from the bench. It was brilliant to watch.
Was good to see Jack get a start and last as long as he did. Nearly got himself a goal not long before he went off but think he was running on fumes by then.
All in all a good afternoon and our squad must surely be the strongest in the division. Weird atmosphere though with the slightly pitiful turnout.

A mere 185, of which the majority were most likely Hamlet fans.

Their attendances have been like that all season really, biggest was 217 in the league, and the lowest a woeful 55, however it was the Robert Dyas League Cup.

Huge comparisons of attendances though, considering we probably take between 75-150/200 on away days at certain games, and depending on the date of the fixture too

Sorry to say that this latest report is even more eccentric than my usual ones, but texture fans will be kept happy.

Went to the bar in the 1st half and asked the lady if they get more than this for league games. She said "you're kidding, right".

Pity really, its a great little ground. Saturday was a top day out.

My first away trip, really enjoyed it, despite there being no atmosphere at all bar the noise created by the 50 odd hamlet fans. It really is in the arse end of nowhere isn't it?
