Harrasment You've suffered on a bicycle

Massively increasing the bike storage capacity of local and national trains would be a good start too.

Most are already used, but not everywhere.

they are used very marginally, you're proposing cycle lanes on every country road in Britain. Or banning cyclists. Or making cycling so slow and dificult it becomes impracticle.

What's wrong with just enforcing laws that already exist?

You've got a bit of a persecution complex I think. I merely made a few suggestions that might help mtor vehicles and bikes get along better and you're accusing me of trying to ban cycling. I am a cyclist meself, y'know

Well have a think about what you said - you were advocating taking cyclists off the roads

- weren't you?

Off some roads, yes. Off others, no. In fact I think I said I could see bicycles getting more of the road in some cases, eg city centres. To me the safest quickest traffic flows are the highest good and that's all my views are aimed at. I'm not here to promote one group over another

I still don't agree that this is even remotely necessary.

If laws as they stand are applied and the 1 or 2% of wankers in tin boxes are removed from the roads, then the situation for cyclists and peds will improve dramatically.

The few times I've tried to use the police to charge/ prosecute motorists - or to protect myself - they've been utterly useless.

One of these dogs - a Jack Russell - ran along side me biting my foot. all I was worred about was not hurting the dog. The owner didn't seem to care. I'd have been within my rights to kick the little bastard though.

NEVER! attempt to outrun a jack Russell

I consider myself to be quite an able downhiller when riding off-road but no way could I lose this bastard of a dog which decided to chase me down what must have been a 2 mile stretch of trail. I know every bump, jump and corner on the whole stretch and still this stubby short legged horrible creature managed to out-pace my state of the art fully suspended rig. I only lost the bugger when it encountered another dog.

I've also, like yourself, had the same breed of dog, on a separate occasion, being pulled along attached to my jeans by it's teeth with it's owner shouting "Oh no it's going to go under your wheels you stupid ****"

Of course correct procedure is to dismount, placing the bike in between yourself and the dog.
