They're the usably-sized version of the horn speakers you posted on page 1 :p.

I've been trying to find a picture of a landrover four series I saw - well it was a landrover chassi, an engine, and a big fuck off speaker :D

Took our rig to Czek last year (linked up with DMT, Random Sound and all the other Bristol lot) and when we got home we noticed that the plastic ring for the port-hole was missing on one of the mids. Few months later I found this photo online:

BASTARD! Some Czek munter is walking about with a bit of our rig stuck round his cock    :D

Nothing, and I mean nothing, sounds better for dance music than this:

Funktion One Dance Stack

I read that MoS had the best soundsystem in the world for house music (hate house), with tweaters and things in the ceiling. I was on the VIP guest list for MoS couple of years ago, thanks to my housemate. I didn't go in the end, because I hate dance music and the tossers you get at places like MoS.

I'd of liked to of heard their setup mind.

Although i've never liked the place, the system in "the Box" at the MoS is very very good indeed. Loud as you like, but really crisp.

If you get a chance - i.e. there's something/someone on you want to hear - it's worth a visit. You probably wouldn't go back, but it's technically impressive. Very impressive really. Dunno what the booth is like these days but 7/8 years ago I had a little tour... bloody massive... four decks... went on for miles.

Hmmm - those Funktion Ones are very pretty. DMT have just got a cliff face sized chunk of the stuff.

Can't find a picture of a big stack off it but the new Aspect stuff from Turbosound is fucking amazing. Really clear and really punchy (Plus my mate desinged it so we got to hear it shaken down  )

Turbosound stuff is bloody good, although I have a personal preference for Nexo or D&B Audioteknik - both make stunningly good speakers, but, by christ, you need deep pockets to pay for them :D

Tis a very good soundsystem indeed. I'd post a picture but the speakers are usually obscured by Japanese people gurning away like zombies. It scares me.

Prince of Wales in Brixton has a Function-1 soundsystem that always seems like a waste when they're playing very quiet music during my breakfast.

I used to go when it first opened - they'd play Holsts' The Planets on it sometimes at the start of the night and all the speakerporn geeks would gather in a little huddle in the middle of the dance floor. It was an excellent soundsystem, really thunderous - no idea about how it is now. I also really rate the sound system indoors in Space, Ibiza, The End and the one in Twilo in NYC (does it still exist?)

I'd still take The End's rig over the MoS's one anyday. I've even had a play in the Box after a corporate gig too - very nice, although I've rarely heard it sound half as good as it did in an empty room.

Funktion 1's seem to be springing up all over the place, with at least 3 rigs in Brixton alone. Very sharp indeed.

Aba Shanti's rig still sounds more visceral and downright suited to dub mind. And those early days of the Valve rig, particularly before every local authority put the noise limiters on after complaints from the neighbouring star systems, were absolutely incredible. The walls of Mass used to literally move, with the crowd - earplugs wedged firmly in and praying - used to be propelled around the dancefloor by ribcracking waves of bass. Speakers as a sensation...

:)
