sorry to bump this old thread, but i keep hearing hard-fi on the radio, and every time i do it just confirms to me that they truely are fucking dreadful. quite often i grow to tolerate stuff i really hate and i can bear to have it on for a while, sometimes i find myself growing to think it's okayish.

but not hard-fi. the more i hear 'em, the worserer they get.

that, as rory would say, is all.

:)

I'm glad you bumped it milesy, cos I missed it first time around, so now hwve the chance to add my "CRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRAP!" vote.

Every time one of their songs starts up on the radio, I think "Hmm, who's this? Could be interesting" and within 30 seconds I'm shouting at the radio "Oh fuck me no, not fucking hard-fi again, no!"

i voted not crap

but thats not to say i would buy their music

or think they are good

just dont think they are crap

;)

i'll have you know i am never wrong

simply of a different opinion, to which you haven't cottoned onto yet

not often wrong, I'll admit.

but this time, most definitely wrong.

and I didn't realise she was yours milesy, where do you keep her?

Shit man. There was I thinking Hard-fi were kinda cool in a new wave Clash kinda way.

Seems I was wrong. It's another message from up above telling me I'm too old to hang with the kids.

But I still like them - I suppose because they really do sound like a poor man's Clash - and I reckon if I was 17 again I'd think they were great.

Sorry boys.

Christ, how many times? Hard-Fi do not sound like the Clash. The Clash weren't crap; Hard-Fi are. It couldn't be simpler.

It's quite simple really. The reason all the cooler-than-thou music snobs and elitists hate Hard-Fi so much is because NME likes them - that's all. It would have been exactly the same if this were twenty years ago and it were Dexy's in question.

The politics of whether it's cool/uncool to like whatever band doesn't register with me personally. I heard 'Tied Up too Tight' and it blew me away - nothing more, nothing less.

As a card carrying snob and elitist, I should point out that:

a) I don't actually hate them, I've got much better things to waste my :mad:'s on and;

b) They are really ordinary to these ears.

a big fat LOL to that! :D apart from an nme that my daughter bought me last year, because the pixies were in it, I've not read the nme in about 15 years!

I am so out of touch and not cool it's sad - but it doesn't detract from the fact that Hard-Fi are really really crap, not much makes me turn off the radio, but they do, everytime.

:p :D
