Kai (?) the basist is the quiet one and the other two would still be nicking cars if they wern't in the group.

I thought Kai was, let's say, the real star of CCTV. The US government saw fit to refuse him entry and The Daily Star had a full page on it. I didn't actually see the piece but I think they were trying to contrive chav-ness out of it.

I know them so am biased but I did like them before Warners signed and hyped them up and ole Billy Bragg is a fan of Richard's lyrics. Also, they did a few LMHR gigs back in the day and have been supportive of the organisation ever since.

They've never claimed to be class warriors. They sing about being skint, having a crap job and living for the weekend. These are the things which most young working class people are interested in/affected by. Not overthrowing capitalism or whatever.

It doesnt matter what their singing about if the songs suck. The skill is in distilling your feelings into something listenable.

Which they manage succinctly. Fair enough, some of it here and there is pedestrian, but 'Cash Machine' and 'Move On Now' would be fine pop songs in any era - and 'Tied Up Too Tight' in particular is a profoundly beautiful burst of rabble-rousing anger that as far as I'm concerned stands shoulder-to-shoulder with 'Beat Surrender' and 'Rock The Casbah'.

Oh this is an easy one.

Utter crap, and they look like twats.

. . . and they are crap.
Are you the ATOMIC SUPLEX as in the band? I thought you might like HF, what with them being extreme hardcore punk and that...
