Hard dance musice from the late 90's

tbh i couldn't stand the tinrib sound (or stay up forever for that matter)... much prefered the european sound.

fortunately, so did the djs at the art lab. :cool:
 
I was in part brought up on this but it's had its time. Loads of better music since but I guess it still has a sentimental value.

most of what people have posted is pretty much 'ard trance. but most places played a mix of stuff back then, so you'd get fluffy euro-trance, nu-nrg, techno, hard trance and the likes all mixed up. it was only later in the decade that things really started fragmenting...

It goes on. before we were even here. We dance, because that is what makes us who we are. We die, we live, but always dance, it is always with us.

We have always had music, bom, bom, bom, the chip said, bom, bom, bom, the speakers said, bom, bom, bom, my heart beat said, bom bom bom.

The only thing that has changed is us.

Sun comes up, Sun goes down.

mint thread dan, this was the stuff I came up on my first pill to, then partied to through the late 90's before spending most of this decade trying to (and sometimes temporarily succeeding in) recreating those times and that mix of music, attitude, people etc that had first suckered me onto the dancefloor............... fucking miss doing warehouse parties an all:(

Our time was then. People have changed since and the awareness is different. It was purer and more ad hoc back then.

I miss that vibe as well but at the same time there is plenty of possibilities to create something new with new music and new people. It is harder but doable ime.

Truth to be told we all got used to MDMA and our neurons are all burnt out :P
 
actually, what this all really reminds me of is the house parties, endless afterparties and me djing with my mates tunes (who played all this stuff) the next afternoon while thinking about clearing up... fun times

mdma mostly isn't actually mdma any more, so even if you're lucky enough to get some, the chances of every single person in the party being up on mdma as well is pretty much none existant these days... plus we're all a wee bit older, people have kids, jobs, mortgages and rent to pay etc so boshing mdma every weekend all weekend isn't such a great life plan... plus it's become increasingly clear that it's still actually their time, always was their time, and we were kidding ourselves to think anything different:mad:
