Happy 2007 - are we all now satisfied that all big 911 riddles are solved?

taffboy gwyrdd

Embrace the confusion!
As we move into a new year with ever more disaster in the Middle East, are we now supposed to forget that things stil dont neccessarily add up about 911?

Has the collapse of WTC7 finally been explained?

Has the explanation for NORAD not operating washed with everybody?

Do we all just carry on as normal now and forget the holes in official conspiracy account?

Things don't add up to 100, that's for sure. But I don't think we'll get there by adding on another 1,000.

I don't think you'll ever get a 100% complete explanation of every single aspect of 9/11 - that's the nature of all such events, I'm afraid - and while I'm in no doubt that there's been some industrial strength lying going on (mainly in the arse-covering dept), I've yet to see anything even remotely credible in the conspiraloon claims.

Ok, how about this for a conspiracy theory then?

The recent filming of Saddam's execution was deliberately "released" to dominate the conversation and TV images afterwards... effectively drowning out the minor detail that he was only charged/convicted with the deaths of 148 people - when (as has been constantly pointed out) he's actually reponsible for hundreds of thousands.

These other charges had the minor problem... the west was heavily implicated in them... so an execution was rushed through over one of the minor ones so Rummy et al wouldn't have to take the stand.

I've not evidence for any of this of course. Not a shred of it, but at least it's about something new. The 9/11 ones have been a mite overdone.

Dunno about that one – I think the release of the mobile phone video had the effect of keeping Saddam’s execution on the front pages for a few days longer than it would have been otherwise.

It was a bit of double misdirection then. They deliberately did something pointless because most people would think they wouldn't deliberately do something pointless. Cunning. But why would they do it?

Over the last 16 years of this continuing war, a total of 2.25 million Iraqis have died, the great majority of them civilians, in all three connected phases of the war.

Phase One of the continuing war started with Desert Storm on Jan. 17, 1991, followed by Phase Two, the sanctions, and Phase 3, the invasion — this last being the “three week war” that has so far lasted three years and 10 months, with no end in sight.U.S. battle deaths throughout these years amount to about 3,200.

lRobert Fisk: The whole bloody thing was obscene Butchery was supposed to have been presented as a solemn execution Published: 06 January 2007 The lynching of Saddam Hussein - for that is what we are talking about - will turn out to be one of the determining moments in the whole shameful crusade upon which the West embarked in March of 2003. Only the president-governor George Bush and Lord Blair of Kut al-Amara could have devised a militia administration in Iraq so murderous and so immoral that the most ruthless mass murderer in the Middle East could end his days on the gallows as a figure of nobility said:

Reign of Terror (1979-2003) – Saddam presides over the deaths of 200,000

Rain of Peace – (2003-07?) – US and UK troops preside over the deaths of 600,000

200,000 in 24 years – roughly 8,333 per annum.

600,000 in less than 4 years – around 150,000 per annum.

Saddam was a tyrant; and, part of the tyrant job description is genocide, and associated activities. The US and UK purport to be on the side of the angels – are we talking fucking fallen angels? On balance, Iraq was a safer place under Saddam.

Irenick - any chance you could properly source those figures at all?

reason I ask is that I was wondering about the comparative figures myself the other day, but wouldn't want to repeat your figures without knowing the source of em.

Ta

btw it's kinda standard practice around here to give links to sources for figures etc when posting, so best to do it up front... welcome to u75;)
