Steve Nicol was a liverpool player in the 80's quite tough, very consistent, no frill player. Did what it said on the tin so to speak.

I would nominate Brett Ormerod, just because I can. And he's brilliant.

On the right back tip, annother name I've heard suggested is Phil Neal. Or how about George Cohen? He did win a world cup.
