Hanoi Rocks

I love Hanoi. They were the first proper band I ever saw, a few months before Razzle died. They're still one of my favourite bands. "Two Steps From The Move" was a pretty shoddy record, and that song you're quoting from - Razzle's boiler song - was dreadful. But "Bangkok Shocks" is a brilliant record, the songs on "Mystery City" are fantastic even if the production sucked, and "All Those Wasted Years" is amazing. They had nothing in common with Stryker, Twisted Sister, Guns N'Roses etc, in much the same way those bands had nothing in common with the New York Dolls. They were power pop, punk rock, bubblegum, total rock'n'roll - one of those bands that felt like they came from another planet. They were supremely cool, and I love them dearly.

I love this photo. All super sharp in different coloured suits. No idiots in shorts and bandanas ruining the aesthetic.

A girl I work with went to see em in Manc the other night Trev, she thought they were excellent. Then again she does have a Velvet Revolver tattoo. Tootin Bec is a great song though

Well they spent half an hour doing new songs that weren't too memorable but they did great versions of Malibu Beach, Don't You Ever Leave Me, Up Around the Bend and Tragedy....missed me last bus through it though
