That was splendid. The church was incredible
- with a really nice restaurant in the crypt too.
When I went down to the loo I also noticed a side door that was open & unattended, so y’all could’ve snuck in.
They started out by making an entrance through the crowds (down the aisle of the church)
then began their set by playing in the walkway right next to our seats! I could have reached out and touched them had I desired;
which I did, but luckily I restrained myself. We were all gathered around them as they played – as I say, close enough to touch.
It was great!
I think I love Mrs. Arcade Fire, she’s so damn enthusiastic….
It’s really great to see someone as animated, excited & passionate as the fans, about their own music.
Around half way through Mr. Arcade Fire came into the audience and walked all over our seats
– I’m pleased to say he walked on my chair too!
They come in through the crowds & left this way iirc. I did hear rumour that they’d play outside the church,
once the crow had left. We waited for a while at the end,
but this didn’t happen…. my only gripe (and it’s not a real gripe) was that they didn’t play Headlights Look Like Diamonds:
that song’s very special (/to me).
They sounded great; they’re so passionate & energetic.
Mr. AF has the most incredible voice, the church was ideal, the entire gig was quite moving and utterly fabulous.
Very happy.
