bluestreak said:
alright, so let's put aside the conspiracies for a minute

so the argentinian team are sitting around the breakfast table during the world cup discussing what they want to do with their careers.

then what's his name who spent last season with us pipes up

"listen lads, why not try west ham. hell, they love me there. they like rebels in the east end, they're a team on the up. pardew is a good bloke, and look at the competition. arsene wenger is an annoying git, ferguson won't put up with your shit and jose, well, it'd be bloody hard work to get a good run at chelsea and those tactical notes he writes in haiku are a nightmare. besides which, loughton high road is the new king's road. you'd be fools not to."

and that's how it happened.

his name was Lionel Scaloni you plastic fan :p

*has encyclopedic knowledge of players*

what part is conspiraloon?

the owner of MSI own Corinthians

There is not a lot of background on this fella - but for a long time he has been associated with 2 russian oligarchs: Roman Abramovich and Boris Berezovsky

One of those gentlemen owns chelsea.

West Ham United, have just signed two of the most highly sought after players in the world.

i'm truly baffled - am i alone in thinking this is a bad thing?

I also think this is a bad thing. These transfers stink.

I'm not saying they're illegal or even go against any FIFA directive but I don't like the idea of companies and individuals have interests in multiple premiership clubs. It's dodgy as hell.

how come i can remember such greats as samassi abou but not the fella who played well for us last season?

Yawn. I'm bored of this sort of speculation now. I know it will end up being a 12 year old striker from Cambridge.

who will either break his leg in training or quit after a month to weave blankets in the pyranees.

I'm an Iron and have mixed feelings, especially if it is the shady thing others have alluded to. We aren't the sort of club that likes big-name players turning up while they wait for a move to a 'big club'.,

Ravanelli and Middlesborough? Or was he getting on a bit when he went there, can't remember...

hmm... Juninho too?

are you for real?

not comparable at all - altho i would give you claudio cannigia at dundee

They were huge signings at the time weren't they?

E2A: they may have turned out shit, but from what I remember they were big signings for a not so big club.

Different sorts of clubs though. Boro have for quite a while had quite large sums pumped into them - OK Not like Chel$ki, but far more than we have ever had.

IIRC they were overshadowed at the time by the signing of barmby - now looking back its clear to see who made the biggest impact - while fab raised a few eyebrows - boro were spending a lot of money and making an effort - this WHU has come from nowhere

Chorlton said:
he was signed, at that time, by the biggest football club in the world.

With the greatest respect to WHU - they are not

Exactly...they both seem class from what I have seen.... though will they settle in the premiership

As for the whole thing, just seems weird....does not make any sense at all...

"I know why don't we'll both go and sign for some tin pot little team in London?...a much better idea than the European giants that were sniffing"

christ would kinda make sense if it was spurs.....hey ho will shock football though reckon they may be just as shocked at the hobos they will be playing with week in week out....;)

 The same hobos who took the European champions to penalties in the last FA Cup final, in a game rated as one of the greatest cup finals ever.
