Nine changes to the starting XI from Saturday's match at Chippenham. Charlie Grainger is in goal. Two newcomers are in the squad, centre back Jarvis Edobor from Chelmsford and midfielder Amos Nasha from Dartford.

Full time 5-1. Goals from Yusuff (3), Hunte, Vose. Home to Wingate & Finchley in the 2nd Round.

Despite the pouring rain and a crowd of just 176 I reckon a few people will say that that was the most fun night of the season so far.

Grainger impressed in goal on his first competitive game, Chapman looked much improved with the captains armband on and Yusuff deserved his hattrick.

Think Gavin has a couple of welcome selection choices to work on ahead of Saturday.

A bit grim weather wise tonight, shame it wasn't a clean sheet but a decent win. IMG_20191001_203317812.jpg IMG_20191001_200135500.jpg IMG_20191001_203311547.jpg

Nah. Some played well, of course, but no one should be getting a game in the League on the basis of a good performance in that match, given the quality of opposition. Sub-pre-season that was.

Enjoyable night at Champion Hill and brilliant 3rd goal
Lewis White again unfortunate not to score (puts in a great shift)
was worried about possible injuries before Saturday - but despite weather seemed to go ok
attendance around 200-250 mark not bad on a very wet stormy night

Would agree the opposition were substandard but it was a chance for 2 new signings and some fringe players to shine.

Gav and Junior need to work out:

GK - Is Grainger good enough or does Preston come back

FB - has Barnes earnt his place back

CD - who starts out of new signing Edobor, Smith who has dropped back from midfield last 2 games, Orlu, McCoy, Quade

Midfield - are Chapman, White, Monloius and Vose good enough for the NLS? Is Nasha an upgrade on what we have?

Attack - should Yusuff and Hunte start or be used as attacking options off the bench?

Hopefully by the end of October we will see a much more settled team.

Think we saw the positive of going full-time. Croydon were out on their feet in the last 20 or so minutes, presenting the freedom of Southwark to the likes of Chapman and Vose.

Very enjoyable to watch a natural goalscorer like Yusuff playing in his best position. Can't see him getting many games still though.
