Hamlet Squad 2022/23

If I didn’t have a full time day job I’d love to help. As it is, I couldn’t guarantee anything from one week to the next, which I assume wouldn’t work for the club.

If I had a job (especially one that didn’t pay me) that demanded I work 40 weekends out of 52, you can be damn sure that when the break of 12 came around you wouldn’t see me anywhere near my place of work on the weekend.
New admin only started last week, can't be needing a rest already (although it was a busy week tbf.

Also, suppose we have no more news just now, what are they meant to say?
Interview with Gav!

Anyway, this wasnt meant as a dig at the new social team. Great to be getting a flow of news ahead of the first match in 8 days time. Well done new admin person 👍

What new Admin and social team? I’m pretty sure there is no new Admin and team yet as they have to give notice in their current job and then start bringing everything in line again. Currently being done as hoc on top of lots of other work that is their real job.

Be patient and all will be revealed as soon as possible.

From what I know there is no new admin person yet, and people within the club are filling in to do the minimum until the new person/people start, which should be imminent hopefully.

Saw a tweet from Tom saying he had handed over the reins... I presumed to the newcomer who it had been said we were recruiting.

Even more so then, hats off to whoever is manning the controls, great to see the flow of news
The people doing it would be first to admit it’s not their strongest area and they can’t wait for somebody to take it off them. They are busy doing their own jobs this time of year so mistakes will happen occasionally

Just noticed we signed someone else, Josh Hill, defender from Dartford.

Never come across him so have no insights to offer...

Quite the triangular career cycle these days, Welling / Dartford / Hamlet.

Oh, and Ming, Vint and Holland retained.

30 years of age, good experience at this level playing Dartford, Welling, Hemel and Braintree. Others also but can’t remember off the top of my head. With him, Holland, Vint and Quade that may suggest Gavin is looking to go with a 3.

Another new signing, Dan Smith, a forward, who I presume from a quick Google is this guy:

I make that our 7th new arrival, and the youngest, at 22. (Others were 25, 26, 27, 30, 30 and 31).

Of the 7, two have come from the National League, and the other five from the NLS.

Edited to add, we signed a keeper too! Joe Osaghae, 21 from Charlton u23.

From CAFC's website:

The Imposing stopper played 19 times last season for the U18s last season and made the step up to the U23s on a number of occasions, keeping a clean sheet in a 1-0 victory over Cardiff City and impressing in a 5-1 victory over Cray Wanderers in the Kent Senior Cup.

He is set to start for Jason Euell's Development squad this season as Ashley Maynard-Brewer seeks senior football.

That's a first team squad of 18 now so I can't imagine that many, if any, of the unconfirmed list will be back. Gio would be top of the list I guess, plus Jordan Green.

Would have expected Timlin to have confirmed either way by now, presume he has an eye on a coaching / management role sooner rather than later.
