Hamburg trip Fri. 13th to Sun. 15th July 2018

As Cyclodunc alludes to above, Double Dunc will be cycling to Altona next week. We are doing an average of around 125km a day (to mark the anniversary) over four days to get from Hook of Holland to Hamburg. I will also be doing the stretch from Dulwich Hamlet to Harwich via our friendly at Walthamstow FC on Saturday.

We are just doing this for fun, but if you would like to donate something (we have been asked), then feel free to make a contribution to Football Beyond Borders campaign to build a new youth centre in the Angell Town estate in Brixton. You can do that either at the fundraising page here - FUND THE FUTURE: KICKOFF FBB'S NEW YOUTH CENTRE - or direct on their own website (thus avoiding commission) - Become a Supporter - Donate Today.

We are aiming to arrive at the Altona clubhouse bar at 6pm on Thursday, as that's when it opens. Hope to see some of you there! N.B. Altona have a pre-season friendly that night about 4km away at the International School of Hamburg.

In case you missed it on Twitter, then we did it! The Dulwich to Altona part was over five 1/2 days and clocked up 686km, so managed to average 125km a day to mark the two club's 125 years. The meat of the trip was on the continent and was 534 km in four days (average - 134km a day).

Thanks to those that donated to FBB's "Fund the Future" campaign. This has reached it's target now, so if you didn't get the chance to support, and still want to, then you can make a one-off (or monthly) contribution to FBB's work more broadly here - Become a Supporter - Donate Today. My thighs are slowly coming back to life now after being full of lead on Friday, and knowing that a few quid are going to FBB will make recovery easier!

I picked up this book at Cellars Ale House in Maidstone today. Looks like it's already been read by a couple of Hamlet supporters and inspired them!

Haha! I was given that book a couple of years ago with a bookmark on that very page.
I only wish you could have joined Cyclodunc & Pompeydunc on their odyssy by velocipede. I imagine it would have looked something like this:

Pauli player banned for four years after an incident that left a player from Falke - our Thursday evening opponents in this trip - in hospital.
People lose their minds in Hamburg…

A couple of weeks ago, Altona played their home match against Union Tornesch in special kits with a 'Boycott Qatar 2022' slogan on their chests. While replica shirts of these were on sale for a while, the club has now started to auction off the single set made for the team, most but not all of them match-worn, of course.

Here's a link to the official match report, if you wanna find out which shirts were worn on this day, and which not, who scored, etc:

And here's press coverage from German tabloid 'Hamburger Morgenpost' with a nice picture of how the shirts look like:

The end of the auction is gonna be at Dec 31st at 4pm CET. Any surplus is gonna be directed to Human Rights Watch.
